Starting school at 4 years old

I appreciate that every child is different and times have changed but something similar happened to me when I was due to start school. I was treated as an outsider and feel this had a major effect on my experience of primary school. It was miserable.
Your experience is not an uncommon one, there is a great deal of empirical evidence regarding relative-age in education.
It is absolutely unlawful for any admission authority to dictate a blanket policy of Y1 start at compulsory school age.0
