friends kids primary school is shut october 1st.
My Sons is open as far as we are aware.
Seems a bit hit and miss, can't see the strike making any difference at all.
  • Eldest so school is shut. Middle child's is open so far but will depend on the day as teachers don't have to tell the head if they aren't coming in. Youngest starts his new special school on Monday so I'm hoping they not shut Tuesday
Have a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T

We're shutting for certain years, we are however remaining open for year 11 pupils to come in to do coursework/revision for their November exam.
  • Eldest school is the 17th October. They have informed us that they may close. Also that they may not know until start of school the actual day . Not good when some of the kids travel a long way for school and only have school bus passes so won't be able to get back home.

As far as i know the younger two are still going.
  • DD's school is shut 17th. Annoys me though as they feel it ok to shut the school yet fine parents for taking their children out for a holiday....

  • I'm in the NUT and I'm striking but not all teachers in my school will. Sometimes Head Teachers just close the classes effected if there is no picket line. There is no obligation to tell your head you are striking which is why some schools have no choice but to close.

I do hope you're not an English teacher.;)

You wouldn't mind your children being left at school unattended then?

Our school has a text alert system and we had a message today saying our school isn't affected by strike action (West Yorkshire). We do have a training day tomorrow though...
