    A lovely dry morning:)

I love autumn, all the leaves changing colour, stocking up coal/hay/larder etc for winter, cosy evenings by the fire after a day out in the fresh air , bliss! :)

Its pay day next friday for us, ive being good with the grocery and fuel budget, this week im using cash to pay for food/my spends from my coin jar savings to give me a good head start on the november pay day budget..

Ive mucked out/fed all animals this morning, 3 loads of washing done, and as usual on a saturday im cleaning the house..

Had a busy week at work, even though it was a 4 day week for me as i was on holiday monday, but thankfully for me ive monday off this week too, so a lovely long weekend for me again, hope the weather stays dry for a couple of rides out on horse :j

    Right, wheres that hoover..

we had a lovely long weekend:beer:

Back to work today, wasnt toooo bad...

Had a couple of lovely hacks out over the weekend, im trying to take advantage of the good weather and longer days, the clocks going forward at the weekend will make it difficult to ride on a work day, and being on the edge of the peak district we do get some proper winter weather!! so must grab as many chances to get out in the fresh air as we can,, and the autumn leaves are so lovely to see at the moment.

Pay day friday, so friday night is november budget night..

Xmas is saved for now as of this months pay, we dont go mad, but i like to treat our offspring :rotfl:

ive been playing on the mortgage overpayment calculator , need to keep reminding myself that every little payment is days/weeks less we have to work to pay for it :)

    :)must keep focused:):)

The winter has arrived early here as usual in the pennines! we have had frost over night, and snow (which hasnt settled) this morning.

Yesterday i did our November budget, and all this months d/debits are sorted..

I made £550 payment to diy loan, which is good considering hubby hasnt done as much overtime this month :j

Monday i will calculate the mortgage overpayment, as using money dd is paying back for money i loaned her a while back now she is settled with work etc.. i also plan on saving another £175 in premium bonds if my workings out are correct :)

Christmas is now fully save for too which is a relief..

Ive set the budget as i said for November, and i know i shouldnt say this as i will regret it, but at the moment we have no extras to pay out in november, so fingers crossed if we stick to the grocery spends, and no unplanned spending, we should have a good month.

Hubby i having a month off from overtime this month as he isnt enjoying his work at the moment, so i will have to be extra organised to allow our savings and overpayments to be sorted for November.

Ive got a savings account online that is empty at the moment, so to motivate me i plan on doing weekly tilly tidies, and and other bits and bobs i manage to save, and my plan is to make weekly small overpayments using this cash to the mortgage or diy loan..

Its my birthday on bonfire night, so ive also saved aside a small ammount for food for us to have a little party tea or takeaway depending on what we fancy. we will probably do this next weekend so both offspring can attend ..:T

Naughty horse raided the chickens feed again this morning, the poor things were going mad, luckily i heard them while i was mucking out, and went and removed his greedyness from their home and locked the door.. he is soo greedy!!:rotfl:

  • Oh Wow !! Snow - I love the snow but not the cold that goes with it.

It's heading our way too, as I noticed the buckets at the entrances to my work were re-filled with salt
and the gritter drove along the drive this morning - always puzzled at that as I'm not on a main road.

For now, it's a beautiful sunny day.

Hope your budget goes to plan.

  • Nice o/p there, and great to see you keeping up the noughts :T

As soon as my interest level came down to an affordable level, I o/p that exact amount, then let my mortgage d/d be paid off the actual mortgage, then levelled it to have my noughty knots :rotfl:

Can't wait till the end of the week, should hit another milestone for me :D

Cold here too, woke up to a covering of frost, so glad I didn't need to venture out, as had a days a/l, not looking forward to tomorrow morning though.

Heres my updated balances for October

    Direct debit- £1246.54
    interest for october- £534.08
    daily- £17.22

    new balance- £216,887.54

    o.paid £87.54

    New balance - £216,800

Good idea a frayed knot, i think i may try your tactic of overpaying interest ammount and letting d.debit bring balance down and make a rounding off payment too.. in fact ive done that in october, will try and do the same in November too..:):D

  • Sammy70, Love reading your diary and love to see you o/p like I did/do. ;)
Keep that up and you are going to smash this :T Concentrate on the 6,800 that way doesn't look so bad.

I didn't do the interest "thing" until I got a new deal and my interest rate halved :money:

Sounds like we both had the same Mondays off work, a lot of coincidences for us both :) Enjoy.
