Thanks michelle09, just wish I could manage a free shop every week, that mortgage would be gone in no time!
Made a small o.p of £9.89, account tidy, so new balance =£227,670.11- I intend to rectify the odd amount asap, I like oos at the end of my balance!!:rotfl:
I'm already looking forward to payday, although the bulk of any cash left will go to fencing etc costs, I'm hoping to use any leftover grocery budget for an overpayment, as well as the minimum £150 I always do ..
Ive done really well with grocery cuts/savings this month, I intend keeping this up all year, I'm dropping the grocery budget £10 a month for the next 3 months too if can.
Its snowed heavily here, so just awaiting hubby coming in with his 4X 4, my little car wont make this snow, then off to work..

scrap the last' just going to work' message, the road is blocked with broken down /stuck cars and lorries, which have diverted down the road near us due to a major road being closed due to heavy snow, and then realised they are stuck in 10 inches of snow, so had to call work and put in an holiday day, not risking getting stuck myself, hubby passed idiot speeding on motorway, that went into a spin and narrowly escaped causing a major pileup, also lorries attempting to reverse due to closed road causing major problems, don't you just love heavy snow!!
So, I will be productive as possible, will do budget for the month, and fine tune the grocery shop/meal planning for the month, then I will have a snowy walk with my little dog, might as well take advantage of my enforced holiday day :jcurrent official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

New mortgage balance- £227,650, nice neat amount
new total overpayments to date amount= £6,715.39
Its the weekend, still snowing on and off here, so don't think much going to get done outdorrs, its freezing!
Ive done the budget and meal plan for the next 2/3 weeks, I'm really determined to make as many savings as I can here, these will be the bits of cash that will be my overpayments, as all other cash to pay for fencing/stable etc costs this year

Next week, im aiming to have 5 NSDs , i have cut my weekly spending money to £20 from £25, and anything saved will go for overpaying
Next friday sees both our paydays, hopefully at least£150 mortgage overpayment, something, probably £100 in p.bonds, and another chunk paid off the smallholding set up costs

So many exciting things planned for this year, I can’t wait to hear all about them!
You are steaming ahead with OPs, amazing progress. I love your free shop too0 -
:)Today is hubbys payday, mine was yesterday.:j
Ive just made an overpayment of £150, bought £170 of p.bonds, and made a massive £1509.91 (everything left after budget/bills covered), payment to the roofing etc costs, this came from hubby and i doing loads of overtime, a 5 week month, which meant extra week to work more , and being frugal with outgoings, we have done well if i say so myself:beer:
Im really pleased with the grocery budget, we have loads for meals in the freezer/stores, so for at least the next 2 weeks i should be able to come in under on the weekly grocery spend, which means an extra overpayment to the mortgage
The weather has been good today, even saw a little sun! so fingers crossed for at least one decent day this weekend to get outdoors to get some much needed weeding, blackberry bush pulling up (my favourite-not:D), and generally enjoying our land.
I love the countryside! :Acurrent official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

Thanks for the kind comment try harder!
We are lucky that overtime is available, we have decided to try and do as much as we can over winter, and in summer when the weather is good, doing basic hours will seem like a treat! and holiday days are all booked for us both in the summer months, to allow as much time as possible to enjoy our home/land, and get the jobs done, and of course we do plan in a few years time once most of the expensive jobs/work is completed, to firstly cut back on overtime, and we would really like to retire a few years early if possible.
All our plans are of course subject to health/finances as always. But I always like to plan ahead, we cant predict the future, only do our best to make it as happy and debt/stress free as possible
I have done really well regarding NSDs this month, I still had my last months weekly spends money, so this months was included and paid off some of the overpayments and savings.
This next month, we have cut our spends from £100 each, to £80, and I plan on at least 5 NSDs a week, so at even have a little extra to save at the end of February :Tcurrent official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

1st of the month, and the mortgage payment has gone out - leaving after the interst had been applied- a new outstanding balance of £226,704.53
The grocery budget has been going well , and i have yet to spend any of my weekly spends :T
We have received hubbys car insurance renewal, i did price comparison- and got the next years cover at a price of £197 less then the renewal, so a good saving there!
