off work today sick with horrid flu type lurgy, feeling poo
On the bright side, all bills accounted for, saving stransferred etc, and budget for March sorted
March will hopefully see stockfencing down side of our land completed, along with workshop door/wall work, and new door for workshop
Its going to be an expensive month, but all he items have already been saved for, and now we are starting to save for next lot of expences, we are following a 2 year savings plan for next lot of work..
We started clearing the undergrowth at the weekend with our new strimmer, already a small area has appeared , unfortunately the undergrowth was hiding the remains of stone/slates etc from an old demolished outbuilding, so we now need to plan what to do with a mountain of old stonecurrent official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

Day 3 of lurgy, managed to sleep last night, and feel a tad better today, not achy just snotty and really fed up
Mortgage payment £1208.83 gone out, interest for February = £397.56, daily thats £14.19
new mortgage balance =£241,288.73
of course i couldnt leave it at that untidy balance, so £88.73 overpayment just made, so new tidy balance = £241,200.00 :rotfl:
on a plus note, won bonus ball last night, so £40 from that to come, wonder what i can use it for??current official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

Haha, I'm exactly the same with the mortgage balance. I've just overpaid today because I'd worked out what the balance was going to be tomorrow and I wanted it to be a nice tidy number instead
Hope you continue to get better. I've had a headache for a few days, that I assumed was a head cold, but now I'm wondering if it's the 4 bunches of daffodils I have in the front room. I got a rotten headache the last time I had lilies in the house
Well done on the £40 win :T'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -
thanks Poppy, hope your headache has cleared, i feel bit better today, so be back to full speed next week hopefully
Mortgage has updated, now showing tidy balance :rotfl:
Today im taking advantage of enforced hometime to organise our plans for next round of work on the house/land. Im looking into revamping our kitchen by painting the units, changing handles, new worktops and flooring.
A new kitchen would cost a fortune, and id rather have a go at doing it this way, and hopefully keep the costs of the whole project to less than £1000.
Another idea i really want to put into practice is getting household cleaning/ foodshop etc done in the week, to free up the weekends for land clearing and other outdoor related work.
From monday, im challenging myself to to do this, the days are getting longer, i want to spend the maximum time outdoors, after all, thats what we got this house and land for
i may even make an early start on weekend cleaning today if my energy levels are up to it. im not a good patient, i hate lounging around even when im ill, this flu has really knocked the stuffing out of me this week thoughcurrent official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

I managed to get housework done friday last week, which freed me up to get stuck into overgrown blackberry bush clearing, and various other weeds/ wild undergrowth clearing done, though we still have lots more land to tidy and clear
I also managed to uncover and clear a set of stone steps whch hadnt seen the light of day for a few yers to say the least, hubby and son chopped down and chainsawed into logs two massive trees which were blocking light into the kitchen.. now we can start to see a field emergeing out of the jungle slow but sure :rotfl:, also free fuel in a year or so when its seasoned, so all in all a productive weekend
Last week saw our stockfencing completed, this week the stonemason has started on sorting out the much needed workshop wall and doorway repairs, friday im booking door company to measure and order our new workshop door, its all happenning!
Ive come into a little extra cash this month from a small inheritance, which ive shared with my two children and hubby, so tommorow i will be making another overpayment, it will pay for the workshop repair and door too, so we dont have to use every penny we have saved, i must admit this came in really handycurrent official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

a massive £500 overpayment made today from my small but appreciated inheritence
Ive worked out we will be into the £230's next month after standard payment on 1st April, and we are still making our £150 overpayment on pay day this month, so a really good month for overpayments this month, wish we could afford to do the same every month!:)
The workshop stonework repair coming along, should be done mid next week, so i will arrange for quote for the door (money already in savings for most/all of this), and next job arrange quote for the workshop roof replacing (to save up some of this yet), then that is the workshop work completed :jcurrent official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

Well done on the great OP :T0

Thank you ETE, its such a good feeling to see the balance come down after making such a big overpayment, wish we could afford to do it more often
Ive arranged a roofer to come and quote for the new workshop roof sunday morning, fingers crossed for a reasonable price
once the workshop is fully completed we will be back to saving, we now have all the tools we need to clear the land, so while we save we have plenty of work getting the land into shape, and all the fencing and gates etc sorted to allow us to get our chickens, and my new horse in summer 2018 :jcurrent official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

worked out budget for April tonight, and made this months £150 overpayment, so new balance £240,550 :j
We need to get stuck into saving for w.shop roof, so frugal month or two ahead, i may need to borrow from my horse savings for the roof, and pay it back in monthly, after all im not buying the horse until summer 2018, so a new challenge ahead methinkscurrent official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for
