Any point fixing to 2017? Labour to fix for 20 months.

I doubt tory scum will be in 2015 election.. so is there any point is fixing now.. I checked it and for me it will make me pay £340 extra per year.. maybe worth fixing for 12 months now?

  • You seriously think electric charges will be different under lab than cons?!

    Their policies are 99.9% identical.

If utilities think Labour will get in I'm sure their prices will go up so any price freeze won't damage their profits especially now Ed has given them plenty of warning.

God help us all if Ed gets back in - he is rightly named for what he did last time and if he gets back he'll do it again, only worse.

I listened to him spouting on about how he was going to give even more money away - dunno where he's going to get it from. Oh yes I do, from us who are still paying:mad:

Alternatively the big 6 might think that an enforced price freeze could be a mechanism to engineer a situation where their prices are slightly below cost price for a year or so - something they can probably handle but might well eliminate their smaller competitors. Now, if the big 6 were to do this on their own then there would almost certainly be protests that they were abusing their dominant market share to eliminate competition .... but if they can say "not our fault no-one can match our prices without losing money - blame Ed!" then they're off the hook.

Milibean was in charge when energy prices doubled. Not helped by the so called green levy, that ,makes the folks on the green and. unethical bord so happy as they count their fit money.

Why worry? The chances of a Milliband government are less than zero!!!I watched his performance -and I wouldn't vote for him in a dictatorship:rotfl:

Frozen prices would be a great idea except that when the freeze is taken off they'll go up by 30-40% in one hit rather than 10% a year as at present, it will help some people and cripple others

the pledge to freeze prices is something out of communist China - or the UK in the 70s. Price controls simply do not work.

The utility companies will put up prices and freeze investment before the election - then as soon as the freeze is over, they will recover the lost income through huge increases which will make things even worse.

In the meantime, we will be at risk of power cuts as needed investments will not happen.

Like it or not we are in a market economy. What Milliband is proposing is frankly rubbish and I have no doubt the pledge will unravel before the election as it is simply unworkable.

lets break the big 6 up..... taxpayers will pay....

only the gullable will believe him.

    its all ifs,

if they do get in n keep to their promise, you can guarantee that what ever plan you have now until 2015, when it comes to switching to a new tariff (when ur deal ends), there will be another price hike regardless of the freeze,

as EVERY new tariff is a price hike ,
so if you only fix for a 12 months your in essence paying a price hike again come winter 2014 when your plan expires, that's WITHOUT another winter price hike next winter no doubt,

so long term fixed prices are a no brainer should prices continue to rise as expected,
are you really going to gamble in the hope
    1.labour gets into power?
2.actually believe they will implement the freeze?

for me npower 2017 I,m on or will be when it gets switched over, I got peace of mind knowing that they are fixed.100% for 3 years
