Good morning,
Just more money spent on milk. Don't intend to purchase
(m)any food items this month. It does seem, however, to cause "food cravings" but I have found alternatives at home instead of spending. I have used up approx. 50 existing ingredients/recipes
acquired before the start of this challenge so less cluttered. Not spending still seems to mean considerable time spent in the kitchen to keep meals "interesting". It is also, for me, highlighting the nutritional quality or lacking quality of my food stores; along with which (if any) to acquire again.0 -
K9 - you really don't need to use up all the milk it'll freeze OK. Just need to remember to get it out of the freezer a couple of days before you want to use it as it takes a while to defrost.
I haven't updated my spends for Saturday yet but need to pop out again today as DH has used up the last of the bread and we're also getting low on milk but as I also have about half a dozen bits on my list I'll get those as well today as it will save me going shopping again before main shop on Thursday. Will update my signature later.
Didn't go out yesterday so at least got another NSD then.

Hi everyone,
Budgets updated to here
Welcome to marris and moneytree1
Since I last posted I have had spends in C**p of £16.72 (which included 4 packs of ys lean steak mince) and Sainsbobs of £15.61. I have another Oc*do delivery coming this evening as I was really pleased with the quality of my previous order.
My 18yo nephew is now staying with us half the week (Sunday-Weds) as he is at college in London, so I have had to rethink our meals. If I'm honest, it's slightly easier cooking for 6 rather than 5 (how DO you cut a pie into 5 equal pieces :rotfl:)
Have a good day everyone

£7.54spent this morning in Mr M. Went in for sparkling water and wholemeal bread( as i need to get back on SW ... however very hard with remnants of cake everywhere - may have to look at Losing wait old styley thread). Anyways spotted YS Quorn ham so got all four packs and have whacked it in the freezer, also got Veggie Italian sausages and Mexican bake on offer a £1 each. Wasn't planning such a big spend, but hopefully can muster up some self-control for the rest of the week!GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £123.74/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. £96.37/£140
Morning everyone,
So far this month I've spent far too much!:o Think it is out of tiredness and boredom to be honest. Not working very much so my vice seems to be food shopping. Our freezer is full to bursting with chicken and veggie stuff so I see a lot of casserole/tagine type dinners being made!!
Really need a kick up the bum to get back into saving. Little to no work means I can't be all spendy. I spent £8 in Mr T's yesterday but nearly £5 of that was on cat food, she's a fussy one. I know I could switch her food but she wakes us up at 3am for food if she's hungry! Like a baby...hmm!
Enough rambling from me, lunch today is Gnocchi & HM veggie bolognaise sauce, dinner - freezer surprise! XMarried in 2016. Bought our first home in 2017. Expecting our first baby in November 2017
Frugal & thrifty as much as possible.0 -
Big shop done now.
£55.63 in Mr S
£16.99 in Mr T
£9.45 in Li*l
Signature updated. Just need to stick to the meal plan. I'll have to buy some milk and bread later in the week but not too much more, hopefully.0 -
I have been sooo bad these past few months with the GC and really need to sort it out! I start off with all the good intentions and then end up in the supermarket 3 different times in 1 week spending over £75
We get paid on 25th October so I shall be trying my best to make meals with what we currently have and only buy the fresh fruit, veg, milk etc as I have a small amount left of this budget (although I am not taking part in this months GC I still keep a track on our own spreadsheet).
Hopefully when Novembers GC starts I will be ready for it and have planned and will shop accordingly and not go wrong lol.2 adults and 3 children DD (14), DD (12) & DS (10) :smileyhea and 2 mental beagles.

No room at all in the freezer unfortunately. Only have three drawers and they are crammed full. Only have four pints left now and it hasn't been opened yet, so should taste and smell fine ... I hope :cool:GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £123.74/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. I have a full fridge and freezer at the moment and am aiming to only spend £100 (or less) until payday on the 30th of October.:T
I have the Asda £15 voucher so have free delivery for 3 months so I will probably split it into two £50 spends, mostly things like cat litter, loo roll and any essentials like fresh fruit and vegetables.0 -
Monday Blues i think
Miserable day outside today and its making me grumpy!
Enchiladas/Burritos tongight with Garlic bread and chips - that should cheer me up.
Hope everyone is okay
