Sky Rant

I'm so annoyed & fed up with Sky. Not only have they taken 2 payments this month but they keep increasing each one. In August it was £64.25, 3rd September it was £66.36 and yesterday it was £67.25!!! If my OH didn't 'need' Sky Sports I'd be cancelling it ASAP!!!

Quick question though, if I DID cancel it, does anyone know how long we'd have to wait before we're classed as a new customer & get a reduced payment?

  • Not until you move house, as far as I know.

You have to cancel for twelve months or more to be counted as a new customer and so be eligible for new customer discounts and free equipment etc.
However, Sky often offers deals to those who cancel to entice them to stay.

Ring Sky, ask for the cancellations dept. They will make you offers for the nxt 6 months.

I rang a couple of months ago and got 6 months of our Sport channel for half price.

Im like you though, it my OH wasn't bothered, it would be gone, we have a freesat HD Humax box in our conservatory and would just buy another one of these.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Cancel it and send your OH down the pub to watch the sport.
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?
  • Sky are rather good with there deals when they want to keep customers. I just phoned up today to cancel my Entertainment Package, the second time this year, and I got the same deal I got six months ago...

Free TV + Sky Movies for 6 months, so in all I will be getting 12 months of free TV + movies for the cost of £27 per month!

I do genuinely want to leave them, try someone else... but the retention deals are too good to refuse, so for now I will stay with them a little longer!

At least now I have the movies over Christmas! :T
  • Give them a call and say you're thinking of getting rid because the price is too high. You'll most likely get an offer to stay.

My OH called them, they've reduced it to £48.75. Still expensive IMO!!!

Lol if only!!! Wouldn't be much of a saving though... He'd want beer.

  • I rang to cancel and they offered me a rubbish deal - about £8 a month off for three months. I've now ordered a Humax box so bye bye Sky.
We have the Sports channel too but have convinced him that it's not worth what we're paying. Got to cancel quickly before he changes his mind:rotfl:
