Has anybody had a positive experience claiming from a Travel Insurance Company?

My brother contracted legionnaires while in Germany and was in ICU for 4 weeks, 1 week on life support. He had no insurance luckily the NHS agreed to cover the costs up to a certain date. But he still had to pay £4000 for a private ambulance home.
I would always advise on getting insurance because it may not be you who has to worry about the cost if you become seriously ill.0 -
I claimed from Columbus this year when I got bad morning sickness and had to cancel my holiday to Spain. They just required a form completed by my dr and proof of all my flight & hotel bookings. Only annoying thing was £75 excess per person.0
