Which Tablet? Nexus 7 or Sony Tablet S?

Any views? The Sony Tablet S is second hand, in good condition, with case. The Nexus 7 is new from Carphone Warehouse, older version, not the new 2013 model. Both are 32gb. Nexus £149.00 and the Sony is £100.00 can't make up my mind!

Personally won't get second hand as the battery life is unknown.
How about Asus Memo Pad 7 HD @ £129 ?
By the way, there is £20 off at tesco direct if purchase over £150. So the Nexus 7 2 16GB is £179.
  • Wow,
    That was quick Cisco001.
See your point about the battery, also no guarantee! However, it looks to be much higher spec than the Nexus and does have slot for SD card. It also has a larger screen. The Nexus 7 I was looking at was 32GB, but the 2012 version I am not really worried if it is an older model, the spec looks pretty similar.
Can't decide whether to be moneysaving or splash some cash.
Glad you pointed out the battery as far as I know they can't be replaced if they expire.
  • Just checked out the Asus Memo Pad 7 HD and I have to say you have put a spanner in the works. I think it is a better bet than the Nexus, having an SD Card slot is a big plus for me.
  • Hi bob_a_builder,
That looks interesting, might have to wait for a week and check it out, the only thing against is it being an unknown quantity. It is certainly a good price. This is getting more complicated.
  • Thanks for the input, I am going to wait a couple of weeks and have a good think. I thought it was going to be one or the other, but you good people have made me realize that it isn't such a simple choice. Back to the drawing board!
I am so glad I asked for help, even if it means waiting instead of rushing in.

Nexus 7 new model has to be the best .Providing you can fit it to your budget . It is significantly better than the older model . Saying that the older model is still a very useful tablet .

10 inch vs 7 inch. Decide on the size first. No point in buying the bigger one if you're never gonna carry it, or the 7 inch if you can't read the screen!

Tablet S with Nvidia Tegra 2 where Nexus 7 v1 with Nvidia Tegra 3.
Nexus is faster, but it is smaller, lacking of front camera/ micro-hdmi/ micro-sd.
