Thomas cook flight TCX470L Tenerife south to Manchester 2010

Hi,
Has anyone contacted thomas cook regarding the flight delay from tenerife south to manchester airport on friday 24th september 2010.
We arrived 3hours before the flight and was told at check in that the flight was full and we would have to wait for a plane to arrive to take us home.
the extra plane arrived and some 5.5 hours later took off and arrived back in manchester around 2300.
all was said that there was a problem with plane and a smaller plane was sent out, which then left alot of passengers like us waiting at the airport until a further plane was found to take us home.
thomas cook are saying that there was a problem with the plane and no compensation is due.
