I know... £50 max, but this one is only £4.99 over. (cut me some slack :rotfl:)
Thing is, budget tablets are incredibly price sensitive. Under £50 is likely to be just a slow single processor model with only 512MB RAM/4GB storage memory. OK to watch most movies and some games, very slow on the web.
For an extra £4.99 you can get into an entry level dual core processor with twice the memory and twice the storage, it will be substantially more responsive to use.
And sorry its not Pink either but check this one out to start with (Use WMicroUK seller as they are UK based, others may be sending from China)

£47.99 and Pink, even has dual core processor but lacking in other areas. Battery small, expect to charge a lot and may not last longer journeys. UK seller looks OK.0 -
Thanks Silly Goose some great suggestions0

I'm looking for a tablet for someone with poor eyesight. Would like to see a whole webpage, so a bigger screen would be better. I'm thinking of 9.7 or 10.0 or 10.2 ins.
It is for browsing the internet on the go and for taking on holiday, also Facebook, checking emails, etc.
I have read that some are plastic and some are metal cased. I want to kept the weight low.
I don't understand the processor types but would like it to work fast and not freeze. Android OS seems to be the way to go.
Please don't suggest iPad as its too dear.
Are the generic brands on Amazon any good? Or what about a reconditioned tablet from Ebay?
Please help.0 -

Do you have a budget in mind?0 -
Yes, up to £120.0

Yes, up to £120.
OK. Tricky price point, plenty of choice about but larger devices at that price point tend to still have fairly low resolution screens still. Not a problem as such - but I am a bit concerned as you mention the user has poor eyesight.
Generally more pixels in the screen, the sharper the detail of text - even if its displayed at the same physical size as on the lower resolution screen. The sharper edges on text and images make them easier to read.
IF you decide to spend a bit more, one of my favorite tablets, the Ainol Novo 10 Hero II has come down in price lately and can be had now from UK sellers for about £133. It has all the quad core power and specification you need, a high grade 1280x800 IPS 10.1" screen and is of superior quality, you may not have heard of them but they make some really good tablets.
But back to budget... be careful on Amazon, many sellers are selling direct from China or Hong Kong with little come back, long shipping time and you may get stung for extra customs charges, even if they have a (misleading) UK sounding names. You need to click on the seller and see where they say they ship from.
FSCS are UK based and sell this model £118 10.1", well rated and spec. looks good generally, although the display 1024 x 600, quite lowish may be an issue, its that price point again. It does have quad core power though.
Also consider this one £120, nice 1280x800 IPS screen but trades that off on lower computer power, having only dual core processor instead of quad core like the previous ones, it will still be adequate for the uses you mention and is a known brand from a major UK electronics outlet.0 -
Appear to be two different model, one in review is 3G, 1024 x 600 IPS, GPS, 5800mah battery, Bluetooth, 1GB ram...
One in CPW for sale is Non 3G, 800 x480 TFT, non GPS, 2400mAh battery, non Bluetooth, 512mb ram...
The CPW is older low spec device only worth £59 tops.
I suspect the review is a much more expensive model or a different make with the same model name. Good try though

Sorry, my error. Still may be better than some on eBay/ Amazon perhaps, at around the £60 mark.
Had to return one tablet due to poor battery performance and got the Samsung Galaxy 7" 2 for a bargain £89 instead, also from CW.0
