Thousands of people ride bikes and scooters every day and survive, it's not for everyone I know but worth considering.
OP, consider whether your life insurance policies are adequate :o

Buy a bike and take turns cycling into work?

I would love to be able to but my ME/Fibromyalgia prevent this!! I could barely get myself on the bike, let alone actually ride it!!!

Now you have me a tad worried, I hadn't thought of the risks, just the savings...oops! Poor Mr Anon. Now the 'risks' have been brought to my attention, I am leaning towards keeping the cars, especially kmowing the loons that drive on the main road to work and the accidents that have occured.

Ask round people who are on the same shifts as you, see about car sharing?
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?

Thanks for the input. We have tried this. No one who works same shift as me and annoyingly, hubby has someone who lives round the corner who works completely odd shifts compared with his even though they're on the same team..grrr. The nature of DH's role also means he needs to be flexible with the shifts he does.

I get the feeling OP is looking for a "get this car, it'll be cheap to run", but the truth is, it's never cheaper to get another car. Not unless your driving an expensive motor and downgrading to an old banger.

If DH stands for Darling Husband. We need not bother.

If you really want to get rid; let himself take public transport or get a taxi if needed. Only you can price up the different choices you make.

Yes, because you would never be rude, would you? Was there any need for your first two posts on this thread? If you can't take it mate, don't dish it out.
