2 ways. Firstly I shoot with a fuji bridge which has a lens that goes from super macro to 720mm. And you can shoot hand held at 720mm too.

Secondly, the deer are at a National Trust property called Dunham Massey, just south of Manchester. The deer are so used to people that if you are careful you can hand feed them. This makes is much easier to get a nice close shot.
