Not sure why your insuring the flat below ?
I'd go through TCB or others, and see what offers are available.
I'd also try and compare prices for insuring them as different properties v as one, as you may be able to get cashback on both and maybe refer the other party as a small kickback ?
I'm not sure they can both be insured as one property given they are leasehold (i'm assuming, which is never a good thing)
There maybe additional cashback to be had with contents, I did that through TCB and Policy Expert and have £70 tracking on a £60 £60,000 cover deal, maybe you could do that x two ?
I'm paying £500 to insure my flat a year for buildings.
Oh, ok, maybe we're not being robbed.
We own the freehold for the whole building thoughwhich is why we need to get it for the flat below too.

I will miss the RM when RM gets sold off.
No disrespect to any postal staff on here, but I am not entirely sure why it is proposed that staff are being given 10% of the newly privatised company? I thought it belonged to the tax payer, i.e. us - we paid for it, we subsidised it, it looks like we are taking on the debts of the pensions, yet it is being set up to make some private individuals, organisations (and postal staff) money for the future. Stamp prices were bumped up considerably to make it profitable and now it is getting there, let someone else have the profits .
I am all for free market/capitalism, but do not agree with giving away for free what isn't theirs to give. And another thing, why is it that all governments (on the whole) are keen to sell off all sorts DESPITE THEM MAKING A PROFIT and being well run, just because of some reasoning that public sector should not run certain types of business. Look at East Coast Mainline - running very well at the moment and making a profit (despite public ownership and doesn't match the stereotype of a badly run public sector organisation - many public sector organsations are not!) so lets rush to sell it on so that the private sector can make the profits, instead of government making profits and ploughing it back into paying off the debt/making a profit to fund things for the greater good. If various public sector organisations adopted some of the best bits of private sector management (sort out the areas that need it, support those that are doing well and help them to flourish, reinvest the profits or pay off debts), this country would be in a better place for all of us.
Rant over.

And another thing, has anyone else received the kind invitation from Ss to complete their survey that will take 20-25mins ... for 200 Nectar points. Seriously? It is not as if Ss have regular glitches or even very many good deals to take advantage of!
So 20 mins of my time is worth 200 points - £1? (don't worry, I give my time on here freely - we all get paid in glitches).
