That is very true and often the person is projecting on to another for the very reason they are protesting about. However unless someone says that that behavious isn't acceptable they will continue to behave in this vein.

Tonights was squills past upset over his ex, that had manifested in how Emma was dealing with her ex. Squills doesnt really care about emmas ex but how reading about the situation was making him feel.

However bad he was feeling, he cannot project his anger on to her, and steps had to be taken to tell him that was not acceptable.

So you are absolutely right but Emma isnt his mother and does not have to deal with his outbursts willingly.
