October's 2013 BR Club

After filling in the forms - checking through - photocopying to get 3 sets of each etc, etc, today I went to my local court.

Got to the desk & had same day appt. Clerk very friendly & helpful. Didn't need to see the judge & within the hour it was all done & dusted! Had the Bankruptcy Order in my hand.

I've had a prelim call from OR who is going to send me stuff thru post & will arrange a phone chat soon.

Went to my local Co-op bank who were ok for me to keep my Cashminder acct so long as OR is ok too.

:grouphug: Thanks to all on here & those who helped from web links from here. Hopefully just 364 & a half days to go until discharge! :j

Phoned my home contents insurance people & they were ok with me going BR as I'd paid all premiums due. Next yr could be tricky, but I'll deal with it then.:)

Had our phone interviews with the ORs Office this morning. I was a bit of a wreck on the phone but at the end of it all she said was that the official letters would go out to our creditors this week and we'd be discharged in 12months and that was it! No mention of making any payments or anything which I assumed would happen.

Relief!

I think I was more worried about the call than the actual court visit itself to go BR. But lasted less than 20mins. All seemed ok, bar a couple of minor points. Chap very friendly. :j

Pop your name on here, the date that you went/are going Bankrupt. Then just keep everyone in the club updated throughout the next year about your BR journey. That way you can all stick together, compare notes and be there to support each other during the different stages of your Bankruptcies.
