1hour and 10minutes until we're due at Court - now, If only I can persuade the husband to get up (he's not been sleeping well due to stress/depression) and get the child to school.

Hope we've got all the forms filled in - feeling pretty anxious myself. Not helped by having the fees in a brown envelope sitting on the table. That's a lot of money for us. I don't like carrying around wodges of cash like that :undecided

Done! The judge was very nice - and didn't seem in the least bit bothered when I burst into tears :o Not sure I can actually believe it's done. Just have to wait for the phonecall from the OR now - probably later today but if not, sometime this week. One more thing to be nervous about.

Just want to thank everyone for the advice and help I have recieved on here, I was officially declared bankrupt last thursday at 10.15am, judge was really nice and everyone at the court were helpful, spoken to the official reciever on the phone and she seems helpful and nice and I have my interview over the phone with her next tuesday.

After worrying about bankruptcy for so long it was a breath of fresh air when I finally did it, its not as terrifying as I imagined and there is so much support and help out there I was humbled, I have started a new job and things are looking up for once in my life.

    Thanks for everything guys.

Hi milkwood and welcome to October's BR Club, I've added you to post 1
Let us know how your call goes and remember it's nothing to worry about, its just for the OR to get a feel why you went BR. Before the call just look through your 6.28/SOA so your familiar with what you have said. The OR will just go through your 6.28/SOA with you. Also before the call have a big mug of tea ready or a bottle of water, and while they are writing things down you can have sips of tea/water, so you don't feel you have to fill in the pauses. And if you don’t know the answer to a question just say so. Do have a list with all questions ‘you’ want to ask. Can last anything from half an hour to an hour and a half.

    Best wishes

  • Had a phone call from the OR's office yesterday afternoon - phone interview arranged for 2 weeks time. She said on the phone to expect a letter and I'll need bank statements etc but not to worry if I don't have many (think I've got at least 2/3 years worth - my hoarder tendencies do have benefits). My only worry is we made 3 copies of the forms and for some reason I thought 2 were for the courts/OR and one was for me but they kept all three and I don't have another copy. I've got all the notes I made when working out my SOA but still a bit nervous about not having the exact thing to refer to when I have the interview.

I put *everything* down as I didn't want to get anything wrong (I even put my wedding ring down as an asset though it's not really worth a great deal in the grand scheme of things) so I'll just have to breathe deep and not panic!

Lets us know how you get on and it looks like you are all sorted, you'll be fine.

If you wedding ring wouldn't fetch over 1,000 at auction then I think you'll be safe ;)

We don't own *anything* that would fetch £1000 at auction :p

Just got home and found my Bankrputcy Order had arrived through the post, along with copies of my forms so at least I know one set was for me and I've got them for my files :)
  • Glad to learn everything went well for you Serotine....
Surprised the court didn't give you a copy of the form 6.28, but luckily you still have your notes.

Most of the telephone interview will be about that form 6.28 and I'm sure that like the rest of us you know the contents intimately.

I now believe that most of beat ourselves up far too much over this.
Everyone told me not to worry, but still it took nearly two years of hell for me to recognise the facts. What a revelation when you finally realise everyone else was right...... a big high for me anyway.

Try to prepare yourself as best you can for the interview and that's it.
    Peace at last

    There are no trick questions..
