Give him a ring and find out if he is making enquiries about a lost pension?

    Ha Ha it's him.

    Sorry everyone.

I have learned something however, so not a complete waste of time..

He wasn't financially savy. However, he was a paper hoarder and he always left a paper trail...I would have thought there would have been a letter from Parker Kelly?

Not if they had not yet got to the stage to provide advice yet. An authority letter to obtain details is right at the start of the process. Not the end.
No paperwork to suggest that. My FIL was nearly 82 at death - would it be normal for someone to contact him at say 70??? He always lived at the same address, always had the same phone number??

Parker Kelly are IFAs. They would not contact him. He would contact them. The would only contact him if they were the servicing IFA for the scheme.

edit, I answered before moving on to page 2. National insurance number is how most providers record personal detail. So, that would be one way to verify which it belongs to. It would also explain a signature difference.

Which is how people lose touch with pensions....."There's a hole in my bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza"......:rotfl:

    A circular thread....
