  • (On the new 2012 system this info comes back via an interface with HMRC within about 30 seconds or so)
  • I will just mention the form prelude is talking about does not list tax paid, it lists nrp address, current/most recent employer, somtimes a phone numer. Thats basically it, i issue countless of these forms on a weekly basis, There only good for the employer side, we have other means to find the rest of the info, Just wanted to point out, i dont know an nrps salary until i fax across a long document in which the employer is required by law to fill in, this lists the income.

For SEMP cases the 720 shows last income declared, too.

Fair play didnt know that, Was speaking from an employed perspective.
  • Hi Caseworker, from my own experience both as a PWC, and partner of a NRP, the most useful suggestion I can make (although I don't know how realistic it would be) would be that every case is allocated a specific caseworker who has a name, direct number or email address. We have had a lot of dealings with CSA Bolton over many many years, who have been a nightmare and the most frustrating thing is that from our perspective they are a completely faceless organisation. I also agree that a re-assessment should be done annually for all the sake of all parties involved.
  • I personally wouldnt mind case ownership again, atleast when you go to work you know what your going to be doing for the day, But for many reasons this wont happen, which is a shame.
  • I would prefer it too, that probably explains why every time someone looks at your case they give you a different perspective on their 'take' of the rules.I know they(CSA rules & legislation) are very complicated but what chance does a person have when they are trying to 'speed read' through all the case at the same time as answering queries the customer has.It just isn't consistent.Too many people are getting other peoples letters posted to them in error. My friend (a pwc)had all the private details of the other 2 pwc's linked to her nrp in HER letter that she didn't know about-shocking breach of DPA.
  • Case-ownership won't come back - in theory each case should only be with someone when actions are needed, and it should stay with someone until that task is completed. The problem they had (at least they did 2 years back) was that they had a lot of staff who were lazy/set in their ways/just not as good as newer staff. They weren't as efficient and just generally did the bare minimum, which meant the more able staff ended up having their work queues allocated to them too.

This might be different in other offices, but was my experience of Client Sevices, Debt Enforcement and New Client Team caseworkers I dealt with.

Stronger regulations as to what actually can be done when NRP refuses to pay. Seems at the moment that it is just a lot of 'promises' but nothing ever happens.

And stronger regulations are needed for PWC's who lie like rugs as well!
