Some people are completely oblivious with things.
If my tenants left my property with four out of six bulbs working, I would be surprised.
One of mine has a four-spot bar in the kitchen with only one bulb still lit. (No doubt when that blows, she'll ring me to say there is a fault!)
The worst was a flat with eleven downlights in the lounge/kitchen. When my tenant left there were only two lit. The block was next door to Focus.
I think it boils down to tenants trying to re-coup a small amount of the rent they pay by not changing the bulbs. It doesn't work though. I always charge for the bulb & for fitting it.0 -

Because you sound like a bunch of petty people who should mind their own business. If I chose not to replace all my lightbulbs when they blow or not weed my front garden all summer, that is down to me and you can either like it or lump it.0 -

Calm down. As long as you leave a rental in the same condition you found it, less fair wear and tear, no-one cares how you chose to live.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -

fionajbanana obviously would.fionajbanana wrote: »Why?
The lounge window of the property in question is one of those floor to ceiling with one of those stupid and pointless juliette balconies.
The window is huge like this but the balcony is wrought iron
Like this?Same old same old since 20080 -
I can't reach to change the bulbs. At some point I'll be buying a ladder.... then I'll have to work out how to get the bulbs out - always an interesting/frightening challenge while petrified and up a ladder0

If you start to sway, grab hold of the light bulb flex or bulb holder.., and hope the flex hasn't wrapped itself round your neck :P
That is meant to be funny.., I always have a two rung step thing which u can usually buy very cheaply as I am only short, and there's always something out of reach in a house.
I'm not sure that changing normal light bulbs can be equated to climbing a cliff face or something and enducing a fear of heights reaction????? How on earth do you manage stairs (I know, u have an axe, helmet and rope)?
Sorry I seem to be suffering from 5am silliness. It was imagining someone equipped to climb the Eiger negoting 13 stairs.0 -
Off topic from original question but for someone looking for a step to reach a bulb or back of a top cupboard in the kitchen...
