Your electricity usage is extremely high. Concentrate on things that generate heat - tumble dryer and power shower would probably be a good start. If you can trim £20 a month off your bill consider it a success, I'd be astonished if you could heat and power a 4 bed for the amount your neighbour described.
Good luck!0 -
yes have shower but we time limit it and tumble dryer is used in all weather cos theres eczema in house, we also have a large chest freezer. no extra heaters and most things are turned off at switch, I have a dishwasher too and boys have consoles. very rarely things are plugged in like chargers as they are turned off soon as charged. Have tried to cut down but it doesn't seem to make any difference and we are barely using anything thats why I am surprised at high bills!Comp wins 2013:160 finish quantum tabs, 2xtickets private screening of prisoners(Jake n Hugh 2)

The house is energy efficient you are using less gas than average...well done...babymoneyblagger wrote: »This house is supposed to be energy efficient as its only 4yrs old, not a power shower.
Your electric is high and the reasons given justify the high usage...so everything is normal. No panic...no need for a meter check.
Now...regards the tumble dryer. What sort of tumble dryer is it?
If you want to you could invest in a much more economic to run one which uses half the energy this one uses....but it'll cost quite a bit upfront.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.
