So can I get a cheaper option than paying £15.45 with BT if I stay with O2 ?

That cheaper option would be Sky since your an o2 customer, if you are not interested in TV they have some very good Phone/BB offers

Trouble is they are very hard sell and don't stop pestering you. If I ask for just Phone line and broadband I fear they will try and press me.

They can try but they can't force you to have something you don't want

Just be clear with them from the start and say you are not interested in TV even if it is for free

Though make sure you speak to Sky via O2 cancellations as they have the best offers for O2 customers

Yes. Though you can take BT Line Rental Saver and pay the equivalent of £11.75pm line rental.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Well BT say they are going to put their line rental up even further to £15.99. That's ridiculously expensive. Surely this will kill their customers off.

Sky's line rental saver works out at £9.95/month, includes only weekend calls, but the anytime call fee is only £5/month compared to BT's £7.

A return to donor with BT is free of charge, it just requires a 12m minimum term.

As some people dispute this, I have asked the BT rep to confirm this (on another thread). I've also asked about retaining a number , which originated with BT, on return.
