HI there, we are due to have a funeral for my nan on the 21st and i stil have not decided which floral tribute to get for her. I originally looked at getting a NAN spelt out in letters but it was going to cost about £100 which is out of my price range unforunatly. I really ideally want something that says nan somewhere on it ie a pillow or something instead of just flowers. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where is the best place to look online or off (in esse area). I have not had to shop for them before so i have only looked at interflora and a few others and also my local florist which is run by interflora anyway. PLEASE HELP.

Sorry to hear about your nan. My grandad dies on 7 June and his funeral is next week sometime. I'll be watching your thread as I would like some flowers aswell. All the best.0

Is there perhaps other grandchildren?
That way you could split the cost between more of you.
The price of £100 sounds pretty normal tbh - every florist I know charges between £30-£35 per letter.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Lost touch with funeral flowers but I think that is about the going rate I use to charge £25-£30 per letter 4 years ago .
My advice would be to go for an open spray, all white flowers( look lovely )and getting the florist to add ribbon with 'NAN' ( gold lettering)0 -
Hello there - firstly sorry to hear of your news. How handy are you yourself, and are you able to get hold of the letters and make the tribute yourself? I have seen these letters in the florists wholesalers and they are about £3 cost price. Usually it is carnations that are placed into the oasis. If you could do this yourself, then this work work out considerably cheaper. Hope this helps0

Hi. I do have 5 others cousins but they have already bought there own indivual arrangements so i cannot go in with them on something. I dont think im handy enough to be able to do the letters myself and my florist def does not sell the frames. I did think of the personalised ribbon and just getting a spray or a plainish cushion but our florist and other local ones dont do personalised ribbon. grrr0

Thats what we did when my nephew died and it looked nice.0 -
do you really need to get a floral tribute? You can get lovely little guardian angel things from card shops that you could ask the undertaken to pin on your Nans clothing and that could be buried with her then perhaps buy one of her favourite flowers and lay that for her.0

Yes i do really want to get a floral tribute. I do like the guardian angel idea tho my cousin has done something similar and evrything that is going into the coffin has already been arranged so im definetly looking for a tribute but thank you anyway0

Why not get just flowers then get them delivered to a local nursing home/hospital ?
We did with my grans flowers, she would have liked it"Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."

Why not go with the spray idea, and get a thick gold pen and personalise the ribbon yourself - this means that you could put more of a personal message on as well?0
