Not unless you want the PE solicitor to try to persuade you to settle! Nope, not IMHO because you are not liable and you hopefully have your defence sorted. Have you been in touch with a regular MSE poster here by pm and told them your local court yet...it helps you if one of us knows where/when.

Hi CM - thanks for the reply - not been in touch with anyone, I'm in the East Midlands - do we think that PE aren't confident on winning in court if they are willing to try mediation?

Nope, they are always confident and use Mediation as a chance for their Solicitor to try to intimidate you to settle. They don't always win though - but in 2013 they usually did and their solicitors railroaded some cases if a defendant was badly prepared, which many were. Having said that we've seen some great wins by some feisty ladies and other 'ordinary people' recently! As linked in the NEWBIES FAQs sticky.

Have you seen the recent posts about the cases that are stayed in the Cambridge/Essex/Suffolk and Norfolk areas...you may not be close to Cambs but this is worth knowing about and drawing to the attention of Judges all over the UK because it could be interesting/useful/relevant. Read this:

Also have you seen the links now added under a 'Small claims' section in the NEWBIES FAQs sticky thread? Have you seen the Parking Prankster's guide (linked there)?

  • Are you aware that the Parking Prankster has recently released an awesome guide to fighting PE in court?
