Bio ethanol fires

Dear lovely MSErs
I am interested in buying a bio ethanol fireplace e.g. http://www.imaginfires.co.uk/categor...-fireplace.php
Does anybody have one that could give feedback on them? I understand they generate heat but that isn't my key priority. I'm worried they may se off smoke alarms but the FAQ on the website suggests not.
Would welcome any feedback on them.

We don't have any problem with our's, we use it in the evenings if we don't want the fire on - soon warms the room up.
The only negative I can give is that if using the gel then when it runs out it makes a thick burnt crud that sticks to the bottom of the fuel cell and when it burns out it doe's pong !, the liquid bio ethonol is a lot better. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
I have a small table top bio fire. It works well, doesn't set off the smoke alarm and as suggested above, the liquid is better than the gel for not leaving deposits - and is about half the price too.
Bad side...you do get through rather a lot of fuel and it isn't cheap.0
