Thank you so much for the links Anne-Marie.
I will study them and persevere for a little longer.

Im a golden oldie so I take a bit longer to process the information haha.

I did a couple of things on it I hadn't done before, 'great I have been able to do that'
then I thought, 'I cant remember how I did that.'

I just have a good laugh at my self sometimes.....

I would particularly like to learn how to get photos from my laptop to my tablet.

The other problem I have is that I was messing about with the camera and took some photos of myself nothing works than pulling silly faces lol, and they are in the gallery and underneath it says 'back up' when I touch on them there is no 'bin' or delete button.
I am told they are on the internet in store, but that doesn't mean a lot to me lol.

This is an Archos by the way.

Usually you press and hold on an image then a bin icon appears; clicking that lets you delete the image. (Assuming the Archos uses the Android ecosystem).
  • Stick with the tablet.
For getting photos & files transferred you need to get a cloud account.
Try Box, & follow the instructions. All it is is a free place on the internet to store things. Think of it as a free HDD (hard disk drive).
You can access the account with a tablet or a computer, hence the ability to upload & download using both.

You are more than welcome, I just hope that they help.

Can I make a wee suggestion? Well, am going to anyway. :D When you do something for the first time, write down what you did in a physical notebook, then you will have an aide memoire. As you do things more frequently, it will become second nature. It's great to have though, for something you may not do very often, and you always have that reference to go back to.

You are not alone in managing to do things one day, then totally forgetting. If I've not done something for a long time, or use an older system, the old memory fails me, and I have to check up. :o
    I'm hardly a spring chicken myself! :p

What model of Archos tablet do you have?

The bin appears on other images but not on any one of the images in this folder. . I am told that it is because it is backed up on Google somewhere ???#

It does say under the images that it is 'backed up'

    And yes, it is Android
