If the store didnt have all that are included in the offer then not alot the staff can do, maybe speaking to a manager might result in you being able to choose an alternative.0 -

Yes.
Go to Tesco.com. Make a note of what wines are in the current Finest Meal Deal. Search them out in the wine department.
Individual Tesco stores frequently do not have all the qualifying drinks options on display in the Finest Meal Deal section.0 -
You should have grabbed a bottle of red, always handy to have in the cupboard to use as ingredient.
Or try M&S meal deal as they always have red, white and rose available.0 -
Its all about offering an alternative, otherwise if alcohol was offered I bet they wouldnt sell as much as there would be those who dont drink wine.
Same with the M&S meal deal, they have a non alcoholic included.
when the deal first came out, it used to be just wine.
but there were alot of complaints about it, which is why they added more.
The choise is much better than it used to be0 -

If you don't like the drink options, don't go for the deal?

I got frustrated at Tesco once because all of the meal deal desserts must have run out so they had just dumped a huge pile of different (non-promo) desserts on the meal deal shelf.
I only noticed this when I came to pay and the total came to over £17.00!
As the rest of the meal (minus the dessert) still came to more than £10.00 I asked if I could just have the meal deal with no dessert at all, only to be told no as the dessert had to be included or "the computer says no".
This effectively meant that no-one could have a meal deal and they were promoting something that was impossible to obtain.
I wondered how many other shoppers made the mistake of paying way over the odds but didn't notice as they deal was buried amongst a larger trolley of shopping?• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.0 -
Should have phoned Trading Standards/Citizen's Advice whilst at the till, to complain about false advertisement / bait-and-switch tactics ... you'd probably find that the issue would have been resolved (favourably) quite quickly.0

they wouldn't have been able to do anything at the tills. You could have gone to customer services and see if they would have sorted it out.
theres actually no way to adjust the deals or put the deals through with missing items as its all automatic
They only way is to manually reduce each item.
as far as false advertising, its no different from having something on the a shelf thats been sold out, so the shelf is empty. Not really sure what you expect any store to do if they simply dont have the stock0
