How long should flight compensation take?

Hi

I successfully applied to Air France for compensation (According to their emails they said they will award this) for two flights which were cancelled. On the 21st August they informed me that they would pay 600Euros per flight and that the process would take up to 3-4 weeks. Now that deadline has passed today with no compensation I contacted them again and was given an apology and they have asked for another 10 working days to complete this.

Is there anyway I can escalate this within Air France that people know of, or is there any other course of action I can take to speed this up?

Many thanks in advance

Gareth

If they don't pay up in 10 days take action through small claims. I would contact them again allowing them 10 days or you will commence legal proccedings. That usually kicks starts action.

  • Thanks JP

I will compose the letter this evening and send it via recorded signed for mail. Luckily I have kept copies of all correspondence so I will include copies of these with the letter.
