Hi all,
I am looking for a decent, no frills internet package. I assume this means I need a land line installed as currently I do not have one.
Can anyone recommend a package that is Unlimited data and doesn't cost the earth.
On the other hand I would be interested to know what the fancy packages include and whether there are any freebies available.
All the best.
Bobby

Since broadband is exchange specific, start with an exchange postcode search on https://www.samknows.com for your available LLU providers.,
Yes, you'll need a landline installing and to pay line rental, unless you have VM cable service in your area.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
The big cost will be the line rental, but some providers let you pay up front for 12 months at a much lower price.
Have a look at TalkTalk - their basic package is now unlimited. Don't believe the scare stories about how awful their CS is, they're pretty average. Should be under £20 a month with line rental.0 -

Hi do you mean Virgin Media cable? Is that for superfast broadband. I already have unlimited internet on my three mobile and can tether but I share so I need internet for the whole house. Speed is not so important.0 -
Yes, I mean Virgin Media cable (not Virgin National). No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Hi,
It's true that unlimited internet is useful if you have decent internet speed which depends on the area you live.0 -
I am with Sky. I get my unlimited broadband for £5 a month. Line Rental is £14.50 at the mo going up to £15.40 in December. 12 month contract. Find the cheapest reliable service, then ring sky/virgin/ bt and ask them if them will match it.Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.0

Hi can anyone give me some advice on the Virgin Media Broadband 60mb student 9 month contract?
It works out at £27.50 pcm.
http://store.virginmedia.com/broadband/student-broadband/student-broadband.html
Plus they have an £50 installation fee.
Do people have any experience with this package or the company as a whole?
I know its cheeky, but is the price negotiable would they be willing to waive the installation fee?
Look forward to any responses.
Best regards0 -
Over 12 months the deal will work out around £330 (not inc £50 installation fee) therefore is there any way to get cashback on this deal? As I still havent figured out exactly how cashback deals work maybe this is for another part of the forum?
Many thanks0 -

Hi, can you clarify what you mean by this? I'm moving to a new place which has no BT phone line but a virgin media phone line already installed.
It sounds too good to be true that you might mean this means not paying line rental?!
I'm looking for the best unlimited broadband deal but don't want any other frills, just one that works and at a decent reliable speed for lovefilm streaming!0 -

Virgin Cable doesn't not require a phone line, as the broadband doesn't come down the phone line like it does with other services.
if you have virgin in your area, then you can get the broadband on its own0
