Holiday voucher received

I am just writing to ask your opinion, our flight was delayed and we wrote our letter as suggested. However, we have just received £815.00 in a Thomas cook holiday voucher. Did not know whether to take it, or should we persue and try and get compensation as money instead. Would value your opinion. Thanks

It would be interesting to know if you actually agreed, prior to receipt, to settle for vouchers or not.
If not then Thomas Cook are in breach of EC 261/2004

You are entitled to compensation in cash. This is normally in the form (as in my case) of a bank transfer.

The actual cost to TC of an £815 voucher is probably in the region of £500. The reason why they tried it on.

    It is your choice.
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left!

Perhaps you could post details from the letter they sent you, and add some more background to your claim. It's a little hard to offer any opinion with so little information.
