Despite the price, I'm guessing the reason for recorded is to be sure people can't claim INR.
Possibly but for 99p it isn't worth it, the recorded element of the postage costs the same as the return for the item. The seller would be covered with proof of postage in the event of claiming non receipt. I certainly wouldn't buy from someone using recorded delivery for such a low value item, I actually avoid recorded anyway as, in the past, it has reduced my chances of receiving it.

Chances are it's more for the other reason though. Afterall, they're adding on more for fees so it's fairly safe to assume they'd happily add on more to get more profit while still being able to sell at 99p. Most people know recorded costs more.

How has it reduced your chances of receiving it? Just because you haven't been in to sign for it?

I had a postman who either left with a neighbour and never told me or signed for it himself and dropped it in the wrong letter box. I also had a couple lost that were sent, just letters, but had no tracking. I think it's improved a bit lately but I still don't think the service is worth it. Items of value will go by special delivery or courier anything else I'll cover myself.

Ah right. Not good. I've never had any problems with the service myself. I think the value of the service varies. I think postage in generally is overpriced, but nevermind lol. I think the service is worth it more for private sellers.

Anyhow, I agree about there being no need for it in this case. However, there's many sellers doing exactly the same thing.

I thought it was just mean not to offer a little of if people buy more than one item, that was all. As said I know if you dont like the postage dont bid, just annoying i suppose that they wanted £8 when they admited it would actually cost them £3.40.

Buy one, wait for it to be delivered, then buy the second.

Yes, recorded for a 99p item makes perfect sense ;) Only on ebay.

I received a £2 item recorded last week. Only charged 99p postage.

I thought i was bad for recorded mail.

Must have been having sleepless nights thinking that someone with massive feedback was out to scam him £2 :rotfl:
