    If you ask her if she's seen it, she's forewarned.

    If you go to the police now, and they decide to act, they may find the envelope on her premises. No point going to them afterwards.

    Was she employed via an agency or direct ?

    If via an agency presumably not difficult to request an alternative member of staff but if you've employed her direct I assume you've the necessary paperwork in order before you think about 'not keeping her on'
  • I would put another envelope in a different draw. If that is taken then you know its her. Make sure that you live the draw it went from the same as it may look like you have not checked it yet so will atke the other. I doubt she will come back though probably cry off sick and then disappear unless she is normally doing it and is used to bluffing it.
  • It hasnt fallen down the back of the drawer has it?
