I won't buy Morrisons' meat firstly because although I'm told they sell organic, I've never seen it and secondly because the meat always looks bright red - really offputting - makes me wonder if it's been hung at all.

I can't comment on organic meat as I stopped buying it a long while ago But I can confirm that Morrison's meat seems well hung and reasonably tender.

The acid test, for me, is beef. I find supermarket beef almost uniformly tough and pretty unpleasant. I wouldn't say Morrison's is as good as I can get from a really top class independent butcher but the steaks and joints I've bought have been far better than those I've bought from, say Sainsbury's, Asda or Tesco (the latter two being a complete waste of money). Probably Waitrose standard, let's put it that way.
  • Easy way to solve all the worry about where your meat comes from.. become a vegetarian and its cheaper too.
  • I'm not buying any raw meat from Tesco anymore.

No thanks, my dentition and my instincts tell me I've evolved as an omnivore.

Then I'd have to worry about where my veg comes from!

I can't think of anything that would strike more fear into me, or put me into a deeper shock than opening my veg box and thinking

"My god! That turnip may have come from the Netherlands"
