Not bad, did my shopping for £22.63 with very little value stuff. Unfortunately I also bought a desk and chair yesterday for £25, which takes me £7.63 over my allotted weekly budget and totally blew my unnecessary challenge.
This is my last super-tight month thankfully.
Next week I am hoping to get whitby train tickets out of my weekly budget for October. Will start looking at prices, by buying 3 months early for april one i saved £40+ so hoping to do same for October one. Just with 2 birthdays and a holiday this month too, well, its tight, but with the frozen veg bought this week, well that puts next weeks shopping bill down.19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0 -
Help I cant seem to stop spending at moment!!!
Yesterday I went with sister and my kids to Ingleton, since it was so lovely here we went with sun cream and light cardigans. four hours later from doing a 4.5 mile walk/hike around the waterfalls in constant drizzle, we were all cold and soaked through so I bought fish and chips for everyone once we finally got home.
Due to being caught incorrectly prepared we have decided to get the proper kit for rambling/walking, jsut I have myself and 2 kids to kit out. At the moment there is a sale on at millets and i can kit myself out for £90. none sale prices comes to £244.00. I can get this lot and one delivery charge on my CC which takes it back to its max, so i have choice, £90 in sales with £6 delivery and around £20 interest from cc over two months or wait till i have the money adn all teh good weather has gone, sales are over and pay out £244 plus £6 delivery. That is just for kitting me out. I still have two kids to kit out. Which will come to around £70 each. this is just kitting us all out with basics. The stuff i am after getting will be used pretty often so its not like its dead purchases. Just feels like all my budgets are going to pot.19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0 -

I've lost the plot, did my shopping but things are that hectic i didn't meal plan for this coming week and its come to more than normal by at least £10 and I still need to get stuff in. My aunt died earlier in week so there is the flowers to put towards, also I have had to make a reduced payment to Littlewoods as I needed to buy a return ticket for wales, as I have an interview at the uni on Thursday morning. There is the costs for after the funeral on Monday where we will all be expected to buy my cousins a drink each.(5) Tuesday I luckily get my fares back that I have to pay out for attending the lone parents interview I have Wednesday I still need to fork out to get to Sheffield so I can get the coach to Wales (luckily a friend is lettering me stay at there's) Then straight after the interview i need to get back to Cardiff to get coach home, to prepare everything for going away early hours Saturday morning. Have had to pay out £10 on getting all my pictures of my dolls and sculpts printed, so I can take a portfolio with me.
If I get accepted for the course I want, then I know I have to get the money together for the transfer from here to Wales.
Through all this I am trying NOT to use my credit card, but its starting to look like I will have to.19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0 -
well unfortunatly ended up maxing my CC. Most of which was on making sure everything was covered for whitby in october and to get my train tickets at £21 instead of £60 odd.
Well I got accepted at uni, but unfortunately can not find anywhere suitable for myself and children to move to that is within less than an hours train ride away. So have had to contact the uni and ask to be released from their enrolment.
Well all it means is that I have an extra year to clear as much debt as possible and now have a Goal to aim for aswell as the debt free goal.19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0 -

Sorry to hear that you have had to turn down the Uni spot but stay focused and you will get there. As you say you now have a goal and with careful preparation you should get there sooner rather than laterOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 297 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts0 -
Just done my proper maths with statements, and in total over August I have incurred an extra £167.09 of debt. Holdiays are now over, kids are back at school, hopefully everyone has stopped dropping dead. I seriously need to buckle back down. determined to get to the £3979.76 owing, by end of this month then that is a third of my overall debt from joining 6 months back paid off. So I have to pay off £393.28 worth of debt this month.19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0

Just really to say WELL DONE. I think you are coping very well with it all. I am not sure I could be that organised, though I suppose needs must.
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Thanks Crown, yeah I think having an actual goal helps to spur me on.
Thanks chevalier, never been this organised before in my life. Sometimes worry it is overtaking my whole life, so trying to bring the organisation into the physical sense of home aswell as the financial side.19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0
