Well I am afraid I have been awhile for a good 5 weeksish. In that time a slight downwards slip, but have just re-worked everything. Due to increase in money after the chancellor's statement in April, what my money went up by, is what i use for children's savings (didn't have it before April, so live as though haven't had it). So a slight double SOA April's and Now.

Even though my DD's school trip is costing a fortune, she more than deserves it, as she came home last week to let me know she will be doing her Maths SAT's lvl 3 a year early (next year) and starting her Maths GCSE's a year early too (2009). So as of Sept this year she is going to have a very strenuous academic time, so deserves this one treat, infact she will proberbly have to start studying during 6 weeks hols.

Hi Penny, wondered where you'd got to! I bet you're so proud of your daughter aren't you, that's fantastic!
You look as though you've got things pretty much worked out - is that the full payment for the school trip or will there be more to pay?"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Believe me that is the Full payment, its only for a day!!!. Leaving school at 1am and getting back around 10:30pm. Have to admit I have been sort of trial running world of warcraft for son, I know have a level 19 undead warlock:embarasse
Well I dont have a social life and mine account holder has to be over 18...any excuse to play.
Yeah really proud of her, and her dad has offered to give her the Spending money for trip, he's gonna give her £50, so that saves me also having to figure that out.19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0 -
At least it's a one-off payment, and if she's as bright as she sounds, you can just forget all this DFW business because she'll be able to keep you in your old age hahaha! It's going to be a long day for her though....but kids have endless energy don't they.
I have no idea what a level 19 undead warlock is..... :rotfl: :rotfl:"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

I used to play WOW, had a toon in one of the best guilds on my server and was a proper raider (pally). My ex got me into it and all I can say is be careful as it is more addictive than this place.
Yes it is good fun and gives you a social life and yes I spent many evenings talking to fun people but if its getting too addictive then RUN AWAY!!!
My ex got so addicted that he refused to leave the house and if I asked him to come off he would hit me. There are support groups for online widows and yes I know it sounds daft but I watched him turn into a monster who was fired from two jobs for phoning in sick to stay home and play.

Lucky for me, I don't need to worry about being fired as I gave work up back in February when kids kept being ill due to exhaustion, and as mentioned, they are bright, so they and their future was more important to me then me keeping a minimum wage cleaning job, just to say I was working. As I already don't go out, then i am lucky it doesn't interfere with my social life as I don't have one:( (though saying that, threw caution to the wind last saturday and went to local wmc to see a rock band and spent the grand sum of just under £5)
My true gaming addiction is Plushie Tycoon on Neopets:o Which I am doing well keeping off whilst trying to get my RL money situation in a nice stable flow, rather than seeing how many millions I can make in neopian currency.19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0 -
Horrid weather, its not stopped raining since end of sports day yesterday. Infact its raining hard enough that at 5:30 this morning i took a walk to asda so i could break into a £5 note so daughter can get bus to school. She normally bikes/trains it there and back which costs all of 50p a day, but I am not having her doing 9miles worth of biking in the rain, since it looks like its not going to relent or stop today, so £1.60 busfare for the day instead.
That is something else I am proud of DD over, her commitment to biking it to school so as to save me some money towards debts/bills. The initial outlay was £50, plus there has been £40(max, if the ticketman doesn't reach her before she gets off, she uses the fare for the next day) on train fare a total of £90 compared to what it would have been of £128 via bus.19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0 -

Shopping has actually ended up coming to £70, which includes the £5 delievery charge. Not sure it will actually last till end of month either, but will give it a go. Thing is I had manged to get cupboards and freezer near on empty (large chest freezer now has half a bag of peas in it, and some diced pork in). Need to take a walk to local Asda to get some mince in for tea though, as I said i would do a lasagne but my tesco shopping isn't goingot turn up till between 7-9 tonight, and i would prefer to have kids fed by then.19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0

Lol snaggles, believe me she is hard work, my son is soooooooooooooo much easier, keep his stomach full, a room full of lego and a pc to play on, and he is happy, alternatively in good weather find a stream give him his trunks and he is happy.
Daughter is very inqusitive to the point of outright noseyness, so she understands fully about finances and having to be a tight !!!!, even at the age of 12, must be why she is good at maths...lol.19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0 -
It never stops, DD came home yesterday with a letter for another school trip to go to local sports venue for a day of ice-skating and swimming. Admittedly its only £5 but this is ontop of the £90 i am already having to pay this month, plus they want the £5 for Monday. Also a letter for a trip to Sheffield Uni for a 'Magic Mathsworks Traveling Circus', thank fully this is a free one but is also on a first come first serve as there is only 30 places. So school trips on 26th June, 13th July and 17th July. Son also came home with a letter for a trip, but his was more asking for permission to go and showcase his artwork at some event so luckily it wont cost, but even if it did, i would still be searching for the money from somewhere so he could do it.19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0
