Well finally broke into my £10 for this weeks Unnecessary challenge, and bough a hair dye. But to try and save on money in the long run, I have bought a dye that actually goes with my roots and eyebrows....ekkk i gonna discover brown again. My theory is that once I am back to natural, i don't need to keep redoing the roots (the grey doesn't bother me. quite proud of it actually). Also bought some frazzles that are on special at asda 50p for a 6 pack, and a pouch of wet cat food.

So glad my financial week is at an end. Details to my third bank account arrived today, so Just need to sort out and set up my weekly budget transfers.
DD is doing my head in, admittedly all this flooding has saved me money, but at price of my sanity, I swear. No idea when she is going to be able to bring her bike home from school, as the local rail station she uses is still under water.
Actually our bus service is stopping just short of 3 miles away from us, so if we need to go anywhere we have to swim first, then get the bus, daft thing is, my village is now almost bone dry.
If the buses still aren't getting through by tomorrow, it doesn't matter if her school re-opens, she wont be going.

Been doing that number crunching thing again (do you think we become obsessed by sums when trying to get out of debt) and I am paying 50.36% of total income on debts alone. With the remaining 49.64% of income I have all the 'normal' house hold bills to pay, all forms of shopping and any extras.

I have decided I will see what I can keep aside throughout July, and pay that amount to my sister towards holiday. If its only £50 then its only £50, if its £100 then its £100 (though really really doubt this).

I would have loved to have gotten under £5000 for beginning of July but nevermind. I know within the first week of the month I will be under £5k.

:( Just been offered a MS assignment and not fair, have to turn it down as i would need to get the same train that my daugher is unable to get at the moment (but in opposite direction).
Once i am debt free, I pledge to myself I will resume my driving lesson, pass my test and get a car, then it wont matter if it floods, snows or public transport companies go on strike, I will be able to general get from A to B.

Sorry about the mystery shop penny, planning on passing your driving test will give you something to aim for and keep you motivated to get those debts repaid though.

Not sure but think I heard a train earlier, if so that means my soul is saved, only £6.00 to pay towards DS travel instead of another £20 for the month.

Ok, I have brought my shopping and stuff forward a day, due to waking up at 5am and being bored, so have already done tomorrow's shop.
I had £5 still remaining from previous week, plus found £2.99 in another coat (yay nice surprise for me for once) then went and withdrew my £40 budget.

    £13.88 food shopping
£3.05 cat food (was 4.05 but had vouchers)
£3.54 ingredients for DD's food tech (we are going to have lots of chocolate buns over 6 weeks just to use the cocoa up)
£10 for an orange pay as you go phone (that comes with £1 credit yay)
£1.67 has gone into my jam jar challenge tub
£15.00 has gone towards paying towards august holiday fund tub (started today)
and rest cant remember if it was £1 or £2 has gone into dd's travel tub, so if trains are now running, she has full amount in there to see her through till they break up.

Can't believe you got up at 5am and went shopping lol! The only time I've ever done that was for the Next sale :rotfl:

Hope the trains ARE up and running again, sounds as though that would save you quite a bit.

Are you going anywhere nice with your holiday savings?

We're going Cornwall, its a big family holiday affair, booked when I was still in employment and funding for it seemed so easy. two weeks later finances went pear shaped. Daughter has also now been informed she wont be fast tracked with her Maths, I received a letter today confirming this, though she is still in a top set, she will just be doing it over standard length of time.
We argued last night cause i told her she couldn't go town with her friend at weekend ( no money for her) Argued this morning cause i told her to get a bath 6:30 she was only planning on leaving at6.50 school doesn't start till 8:45 (thought if she gets the 7:15 bus she sees her old friends from primary that go to local high school) so with her bath then me insisting she have her breakfast before walking out the door we had an argument.
She has come back this afternoon and i said if she gets her room spotless her friend can come here, but she carried on and carried on about wanting to go town and how her mate was going to share her money with her ( i don't care, still have some pride) that i turned around and said she can forget her mate coming now, but I still want her room spotless.
She keeps harping on that she wants sandals for going on the French trip, at this rate i may aswell just walk the streets so my daughter's constant 'wants' can be fulfilled.
She has managed to lose a hockey shirt and school jumper that came to almost £40 so i have them to replace.
