ensure the missing key is deleted from the cars ecu so they cant gain entry and nick your car0

If your not happy with there being only one key then don't buy it.
Just remember someone has the key to your car. Was the previous keeper local?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

But that could be the case with any car you buy irrespective of how many keys it is sold with.
If you were to buy a vehicle and the previous owner was to give you two keys, how would you know that they hadn't had another one made which they decided to keep for themselves?0 -
It's also a risk you take with home lettings, I know we have a key for our last property which we had cut and forgot to send back to the agency. Unfortunately the only way of truly illuminating the risk is to change the locks of the car.0

If they didn't tell you there was a spare, they have no obligation to provide you with one. I never had a spare key for my old second hand car - I just kept the primary key with me and treated it like gold dust. Never had a problem in the three years I had it.
Spare keys don't guarantee a back-up if you lose the primary, some people don't detach the spare from the primary fob

Because with the set of keys to hand you can erase any other keys from the system.
Takes less than 2 minutes to erase any keys you dont have.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Which will stop anyone stealing the car but unless it has keyless entry, it won't stop anyone from gaining access to the car or boot and as I said, this is the risk you take when buying any car, irrespective of how many keys it is sold with.0
