Best thing to do is call a broker, they can give you a breakdown of all the available prices, try Indigo Car Hire they are really good in giving you the best finalized price after the extras etc

I have to say, in Bulgaria, using a broker is the worst possible thing that you could do. the best you can do really is use one of the 2 links below. reliable, trustworthy, cars that aren't likely to fall apart.

I must say i disagree obviously the best, the prices for a start are lower than if you went to toprentacar or thrifty.

On top of this you don't have to rely on knowing Bulgarian because you can use a UK broker to get you a deal over there meaning they can contact them on your behalf.

What happens if you get a extra insurance waver thrown in front of you in Bulgarian and are asked to sign it with no clue what it was, and believe me it happens and brokers make you aware of this...

All i'm saying that in countries abroad you need to be made aware of everything and a broker will do this for you before you go.

Brokers are in business to make money, they choose their suppliers for their benefit, not yours. Having driven in Bulgaria and lived, and believe me I won't be rushing back, I think in this case get a decent company , we used Avis but after all their warnings about theft, also make sure you have adequate insurance

Mxty. the reason it's cheaper through a broker, is because the companies aren't as good. You're far more likely to get thrown an unknown document at some nameless place a broker use thean at the number 1 reviewcentre hire company (TopCar).

Take booking car hire anywhere in spain for example, you'd have to have mental issues to book through one, because they all use GoldCar or RecordGo. Both awful and full of hidden charges.

You are very naive if you believe you're better off going through a broker. The reality is that they don't get a !!!!!! once they've given your booking to the hire company.

Again you are wrong the top car hire company on reviewcentre are RentalCars, a broker coincidentally. I have done a quick quote on a brokers booking engine at Sofia Airport, Alamo and Hertz have shown up the cheapest. If you believe Alamo and Hertz are "awful" then your misinformed they are two of the biggest rental companies in the world.

Spain is a dodgy place for everyone, GoldCar has perks and is often used by brokers but when I booked through Indigo using GoldCar (in Italy) they made me aware that the line would be long because the price is cheaper and that they would also offer me extra insurance which I didn't need to take because I didn't have a debit card.

I'm not very naive, I'm just stating facts. I have never heard of this Top Car but I did a quick google search it took a while to find but I referred to your link, yes they are top in Bulgaria for reviewcentre because well thats easy...

TopRentACar have a 96.1% stars with 233 Reviews.

Indigo Car Hire have over twice the amount of reviews on (469) http://www.reviewcentre.com/Car-Hire-in-UK/Indigo-Car-Hire-www-indigocarhire-co-uk-reviews_1421895 with 96.2%.

Do some research please before calling me naive.

They are however the number 1 rental company in Bulgaria, not worldwide. Talking in Bulgarian terms is far more relevant than worldwide.

Broker's will never use the company that's best for the customer, they'll only use the ones best for their pocket. You'll also notice that in the top 5 worldwide there isn't actually a rental company, suggesting people blame rental companies when things go wrong, instead of the broker, and write reviews accordingly. I'll guarantee you that a broker won't use toprentacar, who are the best FOR THE CUSTOMER in Bulgaria.

Brokers just give you the documents that the car hire company give them. they literally just book stuff.

I will guarantee you that if you phone any broker whilst you're at the desk, tell them that you can't understand a form, they'll tell you to jog on. There is NO benefit to booking through a broker.

It's the same with flights, it just adds more hassle when things go wrong when you book through a third party. It's ALWAYS far easier to deal direct with a provider.

Are you seriously saying that you're better off booking with a broker that'll give you a company near the bottom of the reviews list, than book with one near the top where you're near guaranteed a good car with good ground service? Because if you are, that's pretty much the definition of naive.

just to point out as well, to get to sunny beach you fly to Bourgas, not Sofia.

Sofia was an example made its pretty much the same for Bourgas, I would much rather be booked with one of the worlds top rental companies than a small one in Bulgaria who likely don't know a word of English.

Maybe there isn't a rental company because yes, rental companies get a lot of stick for a variety of different things, which again which i stated BROKERS MAKE YOU AWARE OF.

Brokers literally don't book stuff, they are there to always answer your questions in regards to that booking an adviser if you will. If you call them at the desk asking whether you should sign something they will not tell you to jog on, they will explain what it is as they either will call the branch or already be able to tell due to experience etc.

What I was stating in regards to reviews is that yes the rental company are in Bulgaria but being top on reviewcentre in Bulgaria isn't something to shout about. There is a UK company that advertise everywhere that they are top of reviewcentre, when you look they are only top in somewhere like Portugal although I can't remember their name ill do some digging and try find out for you.
