Positivity Overload - Tips for staying motivated!!

Exercise - Go for a run, go for a walk, do some situps, do some pressups - anything to get your blood pumping.
Get the flow of oxygen pushing around your body and feel utterly invigorated and inspired. Ready to fight the world and win!
This is definitely a great tip. Good for your mental well being, good for overall health and helps keep your mind off debt worries!!
There's nothing I enjoy more than a good run with my dog. Put some great tunes on and just go. Once I ran so far, just going whichever way I fancied that I had to ring hubby to come pick me up because I couldn't bear to turn around and run the 10 miles back!! :j Felt awesome though!0 -
I used to love to run but haven't done anything in about 2 years. I really need to get my act together. Eek!
You know I think a lot of positivity comes from feeling that you have some control. Debt tends to rob you of that once it gets so far down the line. Whether through s/s, through payment plans, through budgeting, through controlling your triggers for spending/negative thoughts - if it gives you some semblance of control, you will feel more positive. Look for the ways to regain control - no matter how small.Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -
After probably the most negative day of my recent existence, I find myself here and reading my own thread!
Well, it's been a day but that doesn't mean it has to ruin tomorrow as well. I also had another positivity prodder today:
Support Network. You need this. It doesn't matter who it consists of or who it doesn't consist of. You need to have people to turn to for support. You are not meant to travel this life and carry each burden alone. This forum is a huge part of my support network when it comes to my finances but I would also have no problem turning to my sister and my best friends. Do not be afraid to lean on those who you would support through their bad times. It's a beautiful thing to have a select few people who love you that way and vice versa.......and a very special thank you to some of the lovely people here who offered me hugs today. It did make a difference and I do so appreciate your warmth. HUGS to everyone who needs one.

Oh a positivity board! A chance to go crazy with my smilies!!!! yay!!! :j:j:j
I have a countdown to debt-freeness! I started it five days ago at 360 - it now reads 355!!!!!! :j
I love being able to cross out the numbers and every day that goes by is a day closer to debt freedom! So lists - anything you can tick off or proclaim 'i did that'!!! A sticker chart sounds like a super idea wegle!!
I distract myself by baking (which kinda makes me also need the exercise distraction too!) and by finding cheaper recipes - so eggless cakes are my thing at the moment and these end up costing pennies to make!!
And my biggest one - using my spreadsheet to watch the numbers of my debt drop and thinking about all the things I can achieve when I am debt free!!! But I wouldn't be able to do it without this board!!
So big thank you!!! I'm not there yet but it's definitely made it less painfull so far!! :grouphug:Debts @ LBM (May 2013): £25,250.27 | Debt Free: May 2015 :j:j0 -

Positivity tip #20: read posts by C-R......LOL!!!!
You go girl with your smilies!! :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j You are in the right place with them!
:D:D:D:D I love the countdown idea. I recently calculated how many $ I need a day to hit my target...........but I'm on track so I don't care!
Wegle is the chart queen - we should send her a crown or something! I think something nice, warm and home baked can't help but spark a smile or two......and sprout an extra inch on the hips but pffft I'd rather be curvy and positive than skinny and negative. Beauty is on the inside as my mama used to say!

Hehe! thanks Hok3y!!!
It's all about seeing how far you've come so far as well as thinking about where you can go when this is over!!!
As far as remembering why I'm doing this i fear my answer is - because I was an idiot with credit!!! haha! :rotfl:
but my real response is - to prepare for a future for me, the OH and hopefully a little retreatist one day soon!!!

Back atcha C-R!
You made me think about my reasons for doing this and I'd have to say, 'Because I'm tired of living this way and I deserve better'. We do not have to live in debt and I feel as if a lot of people think we do. Makes me want to inspire people to have their LBM and say a big fat 'up yours' to the financial institutions!!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -
........and I mean to use the phrase 'up yours' in the most positive sense, of course.....!!!
