  • Why not do a meter reading today, input the readings on their website and wait a few days for a bill to be generated and then you can see how much you really are in Credit?

They DONT generate bills unless a bill is actually due.
Does not matter how many times you give a reading.
You have to ask them to generate a bill if you want one out of the cyclical billing points.
  • It's quite normal to be in credit at this time of year, ie at the end of the summer period, if you are paying the same amount each month by DD, which you are presumably.

However, that amount seems a lot OP, have you seen that figure on a bill? It could be that you're seeing the figure online in which case it takes into account credits you've paid into the account since the last bill was produced, in other words you are likely to be disappointed.

nPower have had problems producing bills recently, I know a few people who had theirs delayed.

Ring them and check the situation.

Well I must be a special customer as they do for me...
What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..
  • The frequency of a bill will depend on what payment method you have, if you are on quarterly receipt of bill then obviously the bills are quarterly.

If you pay by DD then the "statements" ie bills are six monthly.

    * However, if you provide meter readings within 19 days (early) of the cyclic billing date then that bill is produced early.

You can also ring at any time with a meter read (or indeed without one) and ask for a bill.

However, unless you ask for a bill, they are only supposed to be produced when they are due or as per *

Having said that IT related issues can also trigger apparently random bills.

Careful it is not a credit balance alone.

Why would they confuse people by doing that? And even if it was it would (should) only be 4 months which would be £200. But I dont see why they would just state a credit balance...after all they are estimating usage for billing me every month...

Guys i just checked my account again just now, 2 days after sending another meter reading. My account is now £642.82 in credit!

They also have not replied to the email I sent them requesting the money be paid back to my account asap. I'll have to phone their 0800 number from my parents house phone tomorrow...
  • Did you get it sorted spaceboy?
