sky to freesat

Freesat by Sky has a few extra channels than regular FreeSat, but those extra channels are not big-names and are mainly rubbish (shopping channels etc)
I've replaced the Sky HD box with a Manhattan Freesat recorder, takes some time to get used to, but it means no more money to Murdoch0 -
thanks all, have now ordered a freesat box to avoid sky,and tv has built in freeview so should get what we neeed
I have built in FreeSAT with my Panasonic TV and I get all the stations I could possibly want. It works perfectly and doesn't cost me a penny. No boxes needed.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Is an actual reaction to my posts, so please don't rely on anything I say.

Multiply by a 12 months is it any better than buying a box with a 12 month warranty and extras that Sky won't give you, oh and I forgot that if you are out of contract with Sky then end of story. What other facilites btw , I can record stuff and copy it to my NAS or my PC or my WDTVLivehub , oh and watch it anywhere in my house , down the pub in the south of France, oh and I can remote record and manage the box too. The other result I got was I stripped the 500GB disk out of my Sky+box and stuck it in a cheap caddy and I can also copy stuff onto that too when my HDR runs short of room.knightstyle wrote: »We have used Freesat from Sky for many years, like the ease of use.
We pay Sky £10 a month to use the record and other facilities on our Sky box. Much cheaper than a normal Sky subscription.

I'm probably in the minority in that no TV/radio programme is so crucial that I would feel deprived if I missed it and was unable to record it. As an oldie I remember the days of 3 channels . So it is still a source of wonder that I have access to so many. Plus there are the 'plus 1' channels, repeats and catch up via the net.. Don't get me wrong - I like my TV. In fact I probably already spend too much time glued to it and fear if I was able to record, I would never drag myself away from the darn thing.0

Same here,
.
Never owned a video recording device, let alone watch anything recorded.
As for sitting slumped in a chair watching a film(s) every night. :eek:Move along, nothing to see.0
