motherboard with inbuilt graphics

Are there any motherboards with inbuilt graphics that are better than a separate AMD Radeon HD 6670 graphics card.

I was thinking of getting a SSD but of course then it would need a new motherboard with an i5 processor and USB 3 and etc. etc. etc.

I need an excuse:rotfl:as I don't really need a new computer according to my financial advisor. (wife)

AFAIK the best built-in GFX is the Intel HD4000. But a quick online search suggests that a dedicated GFX card is almost always better. The HD4000 performance is almost equivalent to the AMD HD 6450.

So if you want to do gaming - get a dedicated card. If you're only watching movies etc. then the HD4000 is more than OK.

That card is pretty old now, but you're still going to be hard pressed to find on board graphics chipsets that even come close.

On board graphics power word applications and windows.
    Gamers have separate cards.

The latest from intel is HD4600. HD4000 is last gen.
While for AMD, it would be those with APU with HD8670D

Strictly speaking , you don't *need* to upgrade much to use an SSD drive , I'm quite happily using one in this old Pentium4 machine right now!

I suppose it depends on what you are using the machine for.

Why do you think you need to upgrade your motherboard in order to use an SSD? As long as your current MB has SATA you'll be fine. And even if you really want to upgrade the MB, an i3 is enough for most people...

From a very well known auction site, you could buy 4 port usb 3 card, got mine for under £5 inc p&p

Because I want a new computer but don't need everything.

What speed increase would I get replacing my Intel Celeron CPU G530 2.4GHZ processor with an i5 processor?

Go to http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php and compare the "Passmarks" of the CPU's you want.

What is your main use of PC?
    What is your full spec?
How much do you want to spend on upgrade?

G530 with LGA 1155. You can upgrade to intel ivy bridge CPU like i3-3220/ i5-3570K

There is no need to buy everything brand new
