Yes I got email from Barclays support saying I can apply for platinum card and other rewards card but not the initial card which I already hold.

Even in the application pack they sent me a link which comes up as a platinum card.

    Cheers

I had 3 Barclaycards at one point, as I had a CC with Egg that was merged into them, and another one, that I can't remember the name of (on Eurostar at the moment, and not on computer to check with Noddle)

I know someone who has 4 barclaycards, with a total of 15k limit if you added them all together. All different versions of the card, one gold, football, mastercard etc....

What possible reason would I have to lie??? The info below is taken from my latest statements.

    Your Statement Transactions
    Statement Dated 12 Sep 13
    Initial Visa **** **** **** 9001
    Current balance £68.51
Payment due date 07 Oct 13

    Your Statement Transactions
    Statement Dated 27 Aug 13
    Barclaycard Freedom Rewards **** **** **** 5009
    Current balance £107.63
Payment due date 24 Sep 13

Check out the Barclaycard Freedom Rewards website, it clearly states that Freedom Rewards is a VISA card.
Also taken from barclaycard website. Click on reward cards and scroll down to the bottom of the page.......
    What if...
I already have a Barclaycard. Am I still eligible to apply?
Yes you are, simply click on one of the buttons above to find out about the one that suits you best.

I look forward to your apology:)

Unfortunately, you may be waiting a long long time, lol.
They tend to say what they think and expect everyone to agree :-(
  • Speaking to their customer services I got told yes and no by different advisers, so not convinced their policy is set in stone or well communicated to their staff whatsoever. I ended up just upgrading the card I had though.

    I have three:

    Barclaycard Platinum Visa
    Barclaycard Classic Mastercard
    Barclaycard OnePulse Visa

So it is possible to have more than one.

If you're applying for a Barclaycard with a promotional offer, it's usually a condition that you haven't got a Barclaycard already.

Can't see why to apply for a card without an offer, when there are plenty of other card issuers with offers.
