When you put it like that...... :o

:p Overcomplicated, isn't it? A cynical person might even think it's a pyramid scheme.

Best to keep it simple when starting a business. Provide a professional-level service (or product) directly to clients who want it. That way you're in control. :)

Who are the guest speakers, who pays them?

And why would people pay £10 to go to this networking event ?

You can get some halls free if you are willing to search these places out. or even a small fee. or better still use you own home. charge a small fee to cover the cost of a small buffet and you dont need to pay any franchise fees

Yea... Tbh I can meet other parents and children for free so unless they wanted to get invovled on the business its abit pointless. :D
People don't know what they want until you show them.
  • I agree with the two others who think it is a pyramid scheme. It was my first thought on reading the initial post.

So basically its a coffee morning (the sort that have been organized by mums and been going on for generations), but for some reason this woman wants £510 pa for the privelage of you doing it? And expects people in this day and age to spend £10 to attend!

    She's having a laugh.

I doubt it very much given that they are illegal in the UK.;)

Are you confusing networking clubs with the dreaded to some network marketing businesses.:D

Their are a number of well run networking clubs trading as franchises in the UK. Heres some mentioned here http://www.findnetworkingevents.com/networking-franchises/

    RUN AWAY!

Would you pay a tenner a time to go to one of her groups? If the £30/month is a stretch, the tenner doesn't sound disposable either. Then think of your target audience - they're in the same boat.

Anything that involves 'networking' instead of 'chatting over coffee' usually involves someone trying to spin a few quid. I'll bet once you have a 'franchise' (it isn't a franchise from the sounds of things - franchises have a value), you have the opportunity to get people to start their own groups with the same 'too busy' spiel you were spun.

Start a coffee morning, charge £1.50 for a decent filter coffee and £2 for a nice bit of cake to cover the costs?
  • It's EXACTLY the same as this http://www.findnetworkingevents.com/networking-franchises/index.cfm?action=franchise-details&franid=9

So how come that one is ok and doing well but people think the one I found is dodgy? I'm totally confused now.
