Well that's what I wanted. I don't mind friends of friends because even tho I am the owner I want it to be free for all members to post stuff and use I just don't want a group where lots of people join. Otherwise I would just post stuff straight to my main wall.
Thanks guys.

Also, surprised nobody has yet mentioned this and hate to make things sound so cynical BUT anyone can make up a profile to look like a local mum - it could be ANYONE who just wants to find local women with children, where they are meeting, what time and can then use that info for all kinds of things. I know it sounds far fetched but you really cant be too careful. Especially when there are predators out there who want to know things like that - and could also then strike up friendships with people within the group and become someone "trusted" to share personal info with :cool:Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?0

Predators could just turn up at a school, nursery or park. It's easy to over estimate the danger.
I would've thought a bigger danger would be posting about a meet up and then people going around to your empty house.0 -

That too!
I was just pointing out that really there is a possibility that these people aren't who and what they say ther are
And yes, predators can just turn up anywhere but its more the getting the "backstory" on families..... ie finding that one of the mums is single.. befriending her online for a period of time, building confidence etc... then knowing where to find her... etc the list goes on in someone was in it for the "Long game"....

Well I do consider anything children related should be taken with care as there are a lot of dangerous people around. When I needed to make new mum friends after my DS was born I went along to local sure start centre and they were really supportive. I made a lot of genuine friends who have been a great support especially in those early days with bf and sleepless nights. There are plenty of toddler and baby groups in our village that are very welcoming to new mums as well as us older ones.
I have had some very interesting replies and glad I asked the question, thank you0 -

There really aren't - there are a few dangerous people around and it's wise to take necessary precautions but not to think that most strangers are bad.0 -
