    You could.

Do you have a google account? You may get a certain amount of free space with Dropbox so it enables you, amongst other things, to upload pictures from a smartphone etc.
  • Thanks again. Yes I have gmail account, is that google?

Can i ask about Rapport? I thought this was what your bank asks you to download for passwords etc? also can`t seem to find it in my list of programms. I have had this installed for quite a few years,

I`ll leave that one until I hear from you if thats ok. Everything else uninstalled, just going to run that link now.

Thats odd, as I havn`t installed it!! I might be rubbish at this stuff but would remember if I had been asked to install something. I try and get it uninstalled.

Please can I ask about this bit:
    1. Open Computer by clicking the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33_818.jpg, and then clicking Computer.
    2. Right-click the drive that you want to check, and then click Properties.
    3. Click the Tools tab, and then, under Error-checking, click Check now. 18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b_48.jpg If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
To automatically repair problems with files and folders that the scan detects, select Automatically fix file system errors.

      I can`t find `tools tab` there is nothing saying `tools`. Help please!!

Thank you, I must have been right clicking on the wrong bit, I printed off the instructions and followed them!

I expected to get a report or box come up to say it had checked it and whether or not there were any errors, does this not happen?

Look for it under the name Trusteer Rapport. The reason Waddler suggests uninstalling it is because

    a) not necessary
    b) causes many problems, from blue screen startup problems to hanging like you are having. I could find numerous threads giving examples.

You say you have been having problems a few weeks. This does not fit with a Rapport update of a couple of days ago but could still be a cause of your problem. But if you are not sure yet that you want to uninstall, you could disable it.

Thanks again, I found it about 20 mins ago under Trusteer Rapport... don`t ask how!! as I`m not so sure..lol

I have had it quite a while, but am at a loss to know why it was installed on the 12th. If you are both of the opinion it is not necessary then I will remove it (I thought I had to have it).

Thank you, fingers crossed everything will work properly now. Ill let you both know how it goes.
  • Good morning,
I have uninstalled Rapport, re-started the computer and it started checking the disc then went onto sign in page. Please could you tell me is that all that happens, I thought I might have got a report or something?
Think I have done everything you suggested...I`ll let you know how it goes.
    Many thanks
