Good morning, I have not been doing much DFW wise this weekend, as I have just really been catching up with the laundry and studying.
I'm furious with myself this morning, as I order DH's birthday stuff online yesterday and forgot to check TCB first.
After my stupid error yesterday I've decided to set myself a challenge I am going to aim to make £500 extra a month, which I will put aside to get equipment so that DH can start working for himself, as he is getting frustrated in his current job and working for himself would enable him to do what he is trained to do and have more time with the kids.
My list for today:
All meals from stores
Do some of ironing mountain
Laundry (5 loads)
Make a to do list for next week
Look after little ones - ds has gone to work with his dad
Check postcode lottery & birthday bingo
Get ds1 to do his homework
Decide what I need to do for challenge that i've set myself
Do college homework for next week
Leave heating low, as long as possible
Spend an hour looking for freelance work0 -
Afternoon everyone
Its chucking it down here so I won't be venturing too far today.
Determined - Yes I got my heated laundry drier from Lakeland.I must say I am very excited about its impending arrival, yeah I know I should get out more lol. But when you live where I do and it rains most days in the winter you do really need to do something to get your washing dry. Good to hear yours works so well and thanks for the sheet tip!
Ally thanks for the BlackBerry recipes I am going to go it foraging tomorrow.
Just a quick list
All meals from stores
Have a read of flylady in my attempt to improve my attitude to housework and getting stuff done, any tips for me anyone?
Do some ironing
Some sort of exercise
Read my book
That's it 4 now x0 -

I work long hours and am given to being quite messy & untidy
And we're also renovating so don't want to spend too much time cleaning when it's all going to get messy and I have so little spare time
So what I have been doing of late is having 10 minute blasts and clearing everything from one room and putting it away. I do this several times a day including the evening.
I then flylady 2 rooms at the weekend. Really is having a big positive impact on the apperance of the house.DF as at 30/12/16

Hi All

Rant/moan/feeling sorry for myself alert!!
This weekend has been a bit stressy as the car failed it's MOT..£400 to fix
So have had to wipe out my small savings and start from scratch AGAIN! It just seems that everytime i manage to save some money, something happens to wipe it out
Trying hard to think positive...at least i HAVE the savings. I wouldnt have been able to pay for it when i was in debt, and therefore i wouldnt be able to work. Silver linings etc...
Anyway, this weekend i have/will:
-Checked OLB
-Withdrew £
-Wrote meal plan
-Wrote budget for the next 2 weeks
-Kept heating off
-Ate from cupboards instead of buying more food0 -
sucks WTBSE although that is what the savings are for xDF as at 30/12/16

We gave up four weekends and got the whole place clean, de-cluttered, organised and tidy back in November after we moved in. Everything we didn't need left the house. Then, over the Winter, everything that was needed repairing or customising was dealt with.
Now we just do a big hour-long clean once a week, one room at a time in the same order so nothing gets missed: Bedroom>Study>Bathroom>Hall1>Stairs>Hall2>Sitting Room>Kitchen>Hall 3. We start in one corner of a room and work right around that room til we're back where we started.
In the evenings I do the odd tidy/put away/clean during the commercials on tv. We've no children or pets so things don't get too bad, though OH is very good at bringing the gardens indoors.
Every three months we do a Big Clean where we go totally over the top and clean every item in the house. This is necessary as OH has asthma and we brought mould spores with us from our old flat and every so often mould will randomly appear on something.
We have three rules:
*Everything has to be put back where it belongs after use, the same day.
*Anything spilled that might stain must be cleaned up straight away.
*Broken things are repaired asap before the problem gets worse or we lose the bit that fell off etc.

Hugs WTBSE but determined is right - you set the savings in place for when stuff like this hits you frm left field. You are doing good!
One of the girls on my team handed me a carrier bag full of plums from her garden last week. Well I am not one to turn down free food so this afternoon I am busy making jam for the first time in my life! Boy does my kitchen smell good!

Hi all, I am new here so please be gentle with me.
This weekend I have had my LBM. Dh and I have loads of combined debt and are already on a DMP. However we have come to the conclusion that to ever be debt-free we've got to be pro-active and do something about it. Money is very tight already but we just have to tighten our belts even further in order to save and over-pay on the debts.
I have had a really good weekend. Dh was away with ds at a cub camp so when dd went to bed last night I leapt into action!
I sorted all debt paper work and updated the balances.
I put two things on Ebay that I have been meaning to sell for ages.
I scoured the whole house for all change under £1 to put in the change jar.
I filled in a claim form to send off for possible claim of PPI from 2006.
I managed to do a week's shopping for the 4 of us for £43 - this I am particularly proud of!
I joined several survey sites and have started earning a few pence from them.
A good start I feel and I want to carry on while I'm still in the right frame of mind.0 -
* Worked an extra hour today
* Was given carrier bag of windfall cooking apples, scrumptious puds on the way!
* Had a spend free day (tempted on way home to call in shop but did not give in)
And modest though this may be as lists go, it will do for today... a bit tired now lol. Well done all DFWs on their weekends. xx“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0
