Ally thanks for the thread

I must dig out the link you mentioned about shared lunches!
Hello all
After an epic trip to take son to uni - I'm having a day at home!
No petrol
Feed selves from cupboards
Tidy up house and watch some cooking programmes to get inspired
Update spends on groceries - OH got me some washing up bits earlier (in budget)
Do some batch cooking
Indoor drying of washing - no heating on yet
Chop up some free wood for woodstove later
Use up some nice bits from the cupboards for a bath
Watch a dvd tonight
Update wedding admin and do some chores on that.
Hope you're all good - I'm sure I'll think of more but at the moment I'm a bit wabbit!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:

Oh my days, it was an underestimation when I said earlier I needed to update budgets before I lost the plot. It's just taken me ages to sort out all the swapping of funds between various budgets which went on yesterday. mr f said 'Hang on, if you withdrew £20 from grocery budget, why did you spend YOUR money on groceries?'. Hmmm. Well might he wonder! No idea, other than that's what happened. Managed to get it all just about straight, despite not being able to account for £10. Did a bit of creative accounting, which took ages, then moved accounts book & found the elusive £10 note underneath! I find that I really need to get my budgets updated on the day of spending. It was only yesterday, but I seem to have a selective memory re spending. Wasted half an hour on forensic analysis of a receipt for £9.98 (one of those useless ones with no retailer name on it), interrogated mr f......well, asked him, I wasn't exactly shining a light in his eyes, & he didn't go in any shops on 11th Sept......& my journal confirmed my assertion that I hadn't left the house! Finally sorted it. Camping gas cannisters......receipt had got the wrong date on!! Aaaagh! Oh well, it's all sorted out now.
@serendipitous - Yes, thanks for that. The Economy 7 hours may change when the clocks go back. I'll be checking that out. Have noticed a miniscule little arrow on meter which points out the tariff currently being used. I don't mind when it is, as long as I know, so I can get washing, airer, slow cooker & stuff like that timed correctly.
@DNMS & Perni - Thanks for your good wishes re camping trip. Weather forecast pretty atrocious tomorrow, but supposed to get drier after that. We don't mind if it's autumnal (our favourite season) as long as it's not just one huge p*ssdown the entire time. Norfolk, by the way. Not as bad as the North West, but still due to get this coming storm.

Hi Everyone,
I've had a mixed day for spends today, ended up buying breakfast out which I cant really afford but, after my grocery shop, I won't be spending another penny all weekend so I figured I could just about justify it!
Just got back from Aldi where I have brought my entire food shop for this weekend and next week (using some other store cupboard bits from home) for £7.75! I love that place!
I am making a Cheese Potato Rosti tonight, taken from a Swiss Recipe so I am looking forward to that! Then will watch a DVD with the oh with a glass of wine from the bottle I opened last night, bliss!
Just been for a swim at my gym too - get some use out of my membership!
Anyway, I will check in tomorrow with another list, this really does keep me on the straight and narrow.
Lots of love,

I used to post on this thread ages and ages ago. I have taken my eye off the ball lately so thought I had better start doing so again!
So far I have:
Done a load of washing and dried it on the line
Dropped a few bits into the shop where I have a small unit
Did shopping
Checked ebay sales - some items due to end tomorrow have a bid at last, hooray! And lots of watchers
Picked some more tomatoes - still a few more to come, weather permitting. Also picked a handful of strawberries
Prepared a tray of shallots for picklng - everything smells of onions now, but never mind, they will be nice for Christmas
Retrieved a pheasant from the freezer to make a casserole tomorrow
Drove to DD's and let her dogs out, as she and her OH are out for the day
Walked own mutt
Ironing to do, and set up new printer, which I know will be a pain
Have a good evening everyone :wave:0 -

There wasn't a link, just my suggestion.
"Pippi have you ever run a Share and Swap Lunch? It's a great way of sharing surplus to avoid waste without resorting to standing on streetcorners! Organiser supplies bread. Participants each bring one single portion of something to share to eat with the bread like pickle or cheese and one thing to swap like a spare cabbage or seedlings from the garden. Cot bumpers aren't really necessary, I never had them with mine and they aren't always reccomended. Decent cot sheets and gro bags are the way forward imo

Morning all
It's Sunday:j
Had a great DFW-style day yesterday managing to do almost all the stuff I've been avoiding.
Woken up to some seriously bad weather. Hope Foxgloves and Mr Digitalis aren't too uncomfortable in their tent.
The List:
:staradmin Cooked breakfast this morning from leftovers. Homemade croissants stuffed with salami and cheese from yesterday's leftover pastry and salami. Boiled eggs that we cooked yesterday but didn't eat. Reused washed tin-foil. Turned oven off for last 5 mins of cooking time. Staying in the habit of having a good breakfast and a very light lunch. Done
:staradmin Check progress of selling broken Freeview box on eBay. I got a bid. Yay!
:staradmin Washing drying on airer in back hallway. Done. Hallway has tiled walls and floor so hopefully should stand up to being used as an indoor drying airer.
:staradmin OH to use slicer to slice up salami before freezing so we don't munch it all in a couple of days. Done
:staradmin Check remaining broadband allowance. Done, don't want to use too much, cost me £12 last time I did!
:staradmin Cook some foraged brambles/blackberries. Find a recipe, tired of crumble. Loadsa recipes here. (Link)
:staradmin Enter ten Facebook competitions. Ziggy has inspired me to take up comping. Will try it til the end of the year and see what happens. Done
:staradmin Read paper online. Done.
:staradminUse free Android app instead of buying a RadioTimes. I like the TV24 App (Link) Done
:staradmin Get the Winter duvet on the bed. Done
:staradmin Dinner will be DFW- style roast beef: loads of veg and a small amount of meat. Done
:staradmin Beeswax/linseed oil/turps polish our only "antique", a chest of drawers, to protect it from mildew using product from stores. Done
:staradmin Found draught excluder, placed across door to stop draughts. Done
:staradmin Free entertainment: Watch OH's favourite boxset of DVDs.
:staradmin Write to Sky TV to get a dispute resolved.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0
