I decided to call them as I wanted to complain... I was told that the person I spoke to the other day gave me incorrect information and that the cheque had not been cancelled! They said if i'm right with my calculations, then the remainder of the money owed will be paid at a later date but may take some time...

No one seems to know what they are on about.
Sounds about right.
I was suspicious about the cheque being cancelled so quickly, but each dept/team work differently, so unless you know where the case lies, it is hard to tell for certain.
You will eventually know in a few days.0 -

I was suspicious too, which is why I called them again. I couldn't understand why the cheque would be cancelled as my complaint has been upheld, so regardless of what the outcome of my letter to them is, they cheque money is still mine, right?? (that was my way of thinking anyway).
The guy apologised lots and said no where on the system does it say anything about my cheque being cancelled so he apologised for being given the wrong information. He said any difference owed to me would be sent at a later day...
